Default Z06 wheel size

I’m low on a major dealer list. If I get the Z07 package, I plan to keep a second set of wheels for everyday driving rather than the cup tires.
questions:
1. What size are the the Z06 wheels.
2. what are better brands of wheels.and are they available yet.
3. Are aftermarket tires available yet

Thanks,
tom Hanaway

Tom,

Make sure you order a new set of standard wheel wheel studs as well, as the Carbon Wheel Studs are a different diameter and that stud nut combination will not work with metal wheels. To swap them you have to pull the hubs and change out the Studs, and then back again. Not sure how that may work with your CR wheel CCB rotors as you also may need another set with smaller holes like a standard Z07.

Studs are a different length not diameter.

So are they longer than the standard and will a second set of wheels work with open nuts?

This is assuming OP is getting the CF wheels. He stated he just doesn't want to daily on the Cup 2R tires. If he's selecting any of the non-cf wheels, he should be fine.

My mistake. I guess I just assumed he was getting CF because he didn't want to wear his Cup 2's which came on...his stock/base wheels?

Depends on if they're shorter or longer, haha! I'd imagine they'll be longer though.

A different diameter would be a bit odd for sure.

With that said, I'd wait and measure the wheels on the car to see how much you can add in terms of width. I bet the car would love some more front tire given the relative difference between front and rear- especially since it will have a lot more rear downforce than front. A 70mm difference is big, even for a MR engine car. The GT3 is even more rear heavy (Rear engine vs mid rear) and it has an even small (60mm) spread at 245/305. GT4 is 50mm (245/295). I dont know about GT3, but the Z06 wing dwarfs the Gt4 wing. GT4 wing is very low too, so I doubt it makes much downforce, relatively speaking

I believe the GT4 wing is adjustable for height.

I’m the OP. To clarify, I will be getting stock wheels, not CF.

I believe the GT3 F/R weight balance is 40-60 whereas the base C8 is 36-64, so the C8Z is likely more rear weight balanced than the rear engine'd GT3.

Sorry to bump an old thread but wanted to confirm the specs for the C8 Z06

1. Are Z06 and Z07 wheels are the same dimensions?

2. Are these confirmed? I know the text on the back of the infamous CF eBay wheels showed these specs, but wanted to make sure no changes were made as I think those were "pre-production" wheels
Front: 5x120 20x10 +35
Rear: 5x120 21x13 +40

3. Do we know the hub bore size? 66.9?

4. Studs are 14mm thick?

Thank you!

Just for info, I just received confirmation that Finspeed has forged 11X19 and 13X19 wheels available in all of their wheel styles that will clear the C8 CCBs. Great track wheels, although slicks in 19" sizes are somewhat limited. Yokohama does have a fair selection.

HRE should have some wheels by the time you see your car, OP.

Oh, and go with a 285 PilotSport up front. The car is "under-tired" up front.

As with C6 diameters the tread difference between 275 and 285 in the 20" C8Z size is minimal, 0.1" in this case.
