How many of you are burned by the price? Also, were you on any of the bigger lists? Just curious how this is playing out for everybody.

Missed my chance to even get a decent spot on a list, so I guess I'm stuck with my stingray. Maybe a C8ZO6 will be a retirement gift for me now in the next 25 years. Honestly doubt its going to deter that many people, especially people with trade-ins. Ciocca got 5000+ list deposits, theres plenty of orders to go around but not nearly as many cars.

Considering selling my 2022 EVO RWD Spyder with a $290k MSRP for ~$325k. I assume a Z06 2LT Convertible with full carbon will be around $165k, then pocket the other $160 for the recession incoming.

I'm on the fence. The price isn't into the realm of being no longer affordable for me, its just high enough to hit that "do I really want to spend this much money on this car" level.
I really wasn't expecting to be spending about $120k on the absolute bare bones options that I need (front end lift basically).
I guess I really need to figure out if I really do need that front end lift for my driveway lol Starting with a 1LZ would cut the price down considerably.

It’s really annoying. I’m considering it. The price isn’t unaffordable for me, but I just can’t imagine how a Z06 would ever be worth nearly $150k with how I’d want to spec it. I’d rather get a used R8 V10 or a Mclaren 570S for that much…

Thats kinda where I'm at with this price. I really don't care about the "best" car for the money. If I'm looking at spending actual exotic car money on a Corvette, I may just be happier to get the actual exotic car.
I was looking to get an R8 or LP560, but when the prices shot up and the Z06 info started coming out.. the Z06 became really appealing for the "then expected" price. So I decided to get a Z06. But now I'm thinking... maybe an R8 lol

Who knows how it's going to play out, but by GM pricing this car at this level they decreased demand to an undetermined degree. For the first time they had a the opportunity to have people wanting this car till the end of its run at msrp, they chose to price it where it will likely get discounted at the back end of the gen cycle. I'm guessing they're ok with that. Take the money up front and sell the back end ones at what the msrp was supposed to be to begin with.

I should also add that this will make most dealers happy.
MSRP dealers are going to get a lot more than they thought whilst preserving their reputation for being msrp, a lot of ADM dealers will become msrp dealers and will make almost as much money as charging ADM thus salvaging their reputation. Undoubtably some will still try to ADM, but customers will have a lot more MSRP dealers to choose from thus the AMDs will disappear pretty quickly.
If you were going to pay ADM anyway, now you're paying it to a different person, so not much has changed for you. The only people who really suffer here are those of us who were getting this car at MSRP anyway when it was supposed to start around $90k ... for us we just got slapped with a massive ADM directly to GM.
To answer the question in the OP, yes I will still get this car. It's just a matter of whether I have the patience to wait a couple of years when a Z07 HTC is likely trading below $100k.

Well 1LZ trim is about to get much more popular than previous years lol
I got tired of waiting and put an offer on a house last weekend. Figures this would come out 6 days later. We close on 7/29... I defintely dont plan on bugging my dealer right away asking what my number is. I need some time to let this soak in. Pretty screwed up imo, "in line with previous SR to Z06 pricing"... "JK not $25k more, its $40k now. Sucker!"

I’m still in, but now that I’ve let it sink in, part of me is pissed because most likely I’ll have to make some compromises. Been waiting to order a new Corvette, museum delivery, more than half of my time on this earth. Waited until I could make that happen and buy my dream car… always been a Z06. Had no interest in a Stingray because of this. Wanted to spec it out exactly how I wanted… don’t think I’ll be able to make that happen as my budget is $140k out the door. The fact that this life long dream now looks like it’ll be compromised bothers me the most. First world problems.
