10.6 @ 131 mph (Z07 package)
So now we have the official 1/4 mile trap speed with 4 mph improvement over C7 Z07 (127 mph)
Base model Z06 with lower drag should be even better ?133 mph

Inconsequential to me for a sports car/supercar. Let's hear the lap times!

I would say since the C7 Z06 trapped 130 plus here in northeast regularly that if it holds true to form the C8Z will be 133 plus all day long here (sea level and on good air days sub that).

60-130:
C8Z: High 7's
C7Z: High 7's
C7ZR: Mid-high 6's
I think lateral will be similar, braking will slightly favor the C7Z, and corner exit slightly favor the C8Z. I'm guessing it will be a toss up on lap times, more track/tires/driver/conditions dependant than vehicle between the Z06's.
I was really hoping this thing would be in the C7ZR 60-130 and lap time realm. I think this does at least show it won't fall on it's face in 4th (100 mph).

Trap tells you a lot about how the car actually runs and pulls. Even for a trackday car. Sucker is fast.

Not bad. 131 for an NA car. And i guess it stops there since the car seems unmoddable lol.
Maybe the C8ZR will be for the roll racing crowd.

Higher trap speed means you spend less time between the corners. 👍

Correction. The zr1 will be for the crowd who wants the king of the hill corvette that goes faster in every regard vs the z06. Just as it has always been. Lap times quarter mile and yes roll racing. Every metric is one ups the car under it and that’s how it should be it’s significantly more money.

with quarter mile time of 11.2 @ 122mph for the c8z51, i am a little surprise z06 with 175 more horsepower it was only able to run 0.6 sec faster / 9 miles faster in trap speed. perhaps traction has something to do with this.

So what would you have expected? Quarter-mile times do not improve linearly with Hp increase.

I know this is supposed to be the track variant but I am disappointed with this figure. Especially considering the difficulties in modding the c8.
A lightly modded GT500 is going to spank this thing on the highway. I wouldn't have a problem with that if it were not for the fact that you have been able to purchase a GT500 for 2 years now and the c8 z06 is not even out yet.
I'm a young guy. I like to daily cars like this

This is a trackday car and that's the max aero trackday spec and people are complaining? This is not a highway roll racer. The car is heavier than a Stingray (more everything) and has far greater rolling resistance (huge tires) and max aero. Buy something else if you care about 1/4 mile times. The fact that the car traps over 130 means it's moving. And we all know GM's tests are conservative. At ATCO the car will probably be 135-136 and nipping at 10.0.

I agree with everything you are saying.
From a data perspective 0- The only thing that remains is what the C8 Z06 will do from a standing start. The 10.6 was from a rolling start...

Where did you you see the GM official released 1/4 mile time and trap speed was not a standing start?
