How many planning to get a Z06 and it値l be their daily driver?

Daily
I have a two car garage with two four post lifts… if I have four classic Corvettes, this Z will live in the driveway and be driven every day, rain or shine. No reason to drive it in the snow, but it doesn’t snow up here that much. I don’t plan on really keeping more than four Corvettes in this house… So it shouldn’t have to live outside that long, but the way I see it it’s a brand new car and can live up to the elements much better than the classics that are nice warm and dry.
I can’t believe I’m calling C-4s classics… But hey I got a 1960 race car and a 1963 split window too!

Do you have to pay less in tax and registration fees in your state if you keep it less than 20 days? Just wondering, as it seems like most states hit you with full registration and taxes even if you sell it shortly after buying.

Corvette's are Toys...
Definitely DD. After waiting 18 months on our build...we put 7500 mile the first 7.5 weeks (averaging 150 mi/day) on our 2021 Z51 HTC touring much of route 66 (historic sites, museums, etc) for the umpteeth time. Obviously, stopped at Ron Fellows driving school which I highly recommend...awsome deal for $1K. Also, a conversation starter at store/restaurant parking lots and even red lights. We live in Daytona and volunteer as logo guards at most of the races...another hot spot for car enthuists.
However, I am NOT getting any younger and want to get the most out of life while I can...see you on the road!

Sports cars in general are way too impractical for me as a DD. I put up to 50k miles a year on my daily and have way too many people and things that need to get places. I値l probably put around 8k-10k miles a year on my Z06.

I almost forgot...# 106 Z06, #17 ZR1 and #12 Zora at a Florida dealership...#622 at MM. I believe I will not get my order build approval until late 2024 or 2025. I plan on reversing colors; black with midnight gray racing stripe (makes me feel younger) and adrenaline red interior. So, when my time comes for the order, I will show the build on the forum...who knows, maybe the Zora will be available in 2025!

Is there any part of the car that will be adversely affected by road salt in the winter over the long term? Given that the frame is aluminum and body is SMC fiberglass and can't rust (I know aluminum can "oxidize"), seems it will be pretty immune?

It痴 crazy to me how this could be someone痴 only car they own. Do you guys rent bigger cars when you need to buy large items or take more than one passenger 🤔

Currently with 3 Vettes. Two forever cars, and my 2021 Z51. Z06 will replace the 2021. Regardless, I have a Toyota Tundra that serves as the daily, but for someone who's worked out of the house since 1997, "daily driver" is kind of a misnomer. August 18 will be 2 years on the '21, and it will have just slightly less than 9k miles, and I autocross this car across the nation. It is my "grocery getter", but I suspect the Z06 will not be driven quite as much.

It's crazy to me how I got by without owning a P/U for my first ~25 yrs of driving. Answer: I did have lots of friends and family close by, that had 'em - I am in Texas .
But now, if I need to move something bigger than fits easily into an SUV, I don't have to coordinate with anyone. Yea - That is only 3 or 4 times a year, but worth it to me.
Answer to the Thread: Spare - Retired now (do part time Consulting mostly from home).
Before I retired, worked from home ~1/2 time. The 1/2 that I did go to the Office, it was not a fun drive. 50 min at freeway speeds, but it usually took me ~1&1/2 hrs. Always over an hour, and if there was a significant wreck or it was raining - 2 hrs was not uncommon. For me - Bumper to Bumper driving (lots of it Stop and Go) is not fun in a Vette (especially a Man). P/U is much better. I literally made better time in my P/U, just because I was sitting high and able to see the lane to lane traffic flow ahead - Not possible when your eyes are below everyone else's window line.

I had two cars before (360 spider and E350) and only drive the 360 on nice weekends. Now I just have the Z06 and it is my DD. if I need something bigger, I swap with my wife for her SUV.... Simple.

Stingray is my DD, fun around town or causing the interstate. Only downside is it's tricky to get the back clean after it rains
If i ever get a z06 i will DD but probably park in the garage

It's won't be my "daily" as I work from home and have a Grand Cherokee for grocery runs and bad weather, but I've put 6,000 miles on my C8 SR since picking it up at NCM in late February, and expect to do another 2-3K this year. I'll do similar use on the Z06, they are too fun to leave them in the garage and never put any miles on them. I enjoy driving my cars too much, and any C8 will be a great car for driving and taking on trips.
