Boredom setting in
The extended lead time from introduction to pricing and delivery is starting to make me less enthusiastic about the car. Hopefully this will change as we get closer to deliveries.

You are correct and I have decided to just enjoy my last of its kind 2019 M7 Convertible Z06 until things get back to close to normal for possibly acquiring a C8Z.

This is why i'm not selling my C7Z. I know i risk losing the advantage of the high used car market values but right now i don't care. The car runs perfect, it still looks amazing and i'm still loving it, almost 6 years later. I know i'll still get decent money for it, even if it's time to sell a year or 2 from now.
I keep getting false hope about getting a first MY z06 but i'm just pretending as if i already know i'm getting a 2nd MY lol. Which is most likely true anyway. Just enjoying the z06 i have now.
That's why i ordered an M4 x-drive. Even though dealer said it could be 8-10 months until i get that too lol.

I don’t know where you are on your journey, but my enthusiasm has ebbed and flowed over the last 12 months. I have a TPW of 2/14. Over the last two months I’ve not been that excited. But the excitement is starting to build again.

I'm also cross-shopping a 911 and, honestly, if it weren't for the fact that I'm sitting #1 on my dealers Z06 list at MSRP I'd probably bail. I'm afraid that the C8Z hype is going to be impossible to deliver on and will feel like a let down in a way, particularly since I've already had my C8 for 18 months. I'd love to know what direction you end up going....

Not so much boredom for me, but I had a C8 for a year and while I know the performance and sound of thread Z06 will be amazing, I have a feeling the overall aesthetics will wear on me quickly as they did with the Stingray. I’m 134 at MM.

i agree with op. that and dealer bs about markup has really dampened my enthusiasm to the point i dont really care about getting one. my present c7 and motorcycles are just fine. plus so many other vehicles to consider.

My option… if Chevy was smart they would start capping the markups. They want to sell their new car, however not everyone wants to pay $20k+ over sticker. It’s actually pretty sad what’s going on. I’m sure the new 911 turbo will still kill the Z. You need all wheel drive to get the power down. One mistake Chevy made with this car.
The C8Z is more like the GT3.
Why do people keep comparing the C8Z to every single car out there? There are different classes/versions of cars for a reason.

There’s a reason why Porsche offers more than a dozen variants of the 911 in RWD, AWD, Coupe, Converible, Turbo, Normally Aspirated, etc. Each model has a different character, different strengths and weaknesses and appeals to different buyers depending on their intended purpose.
if the Z06 had AWD or Turbos it would weigh closer to 2 tons and would no longer be attractive as a track oriented Corvette. At 3600+ pounds fully dressed, It’s already more than 300 pounds heavier than most of us want it to be. I don’t want a 911 Turbo or an E Ray, not because they won’t both be fast, but because they won’t be capable of delivering the same driving experience as a Z06.

I feel your pain! I have been anxious to find out what the exact pricing will be on the car and options, dealer allocations, gas guzzler tax, etc. etc. etc. Seems we are all in Limbo right now!

But if that's the case, the C7Z, C7ZR, trackhawk, hellcat, GT2RS, 911 turbo s, bentley continental GT and all cars around the same horsepower are all categorized under one group? All those cars i just mentioned, and there's still a lot more, are not even close to being anything remotely similar to each other besides the 2 C7's.
The z06 has never been the jack of all trades, a master of them all. If that was the case, GM wouldn't need to make any other corvette variant. It would just be one, that will do it all.
And i don't doubt GM can pull that off. The issue is, is a beast like we're all wanting, would cost 250-300k. Pretty sure not many would buy a corvette that cost 250-300k.

But they know what the audience wants. A variant for EVERYONE. You don't like one kind? Well get the other kind.
People keep wanting this C8Z to do everything. Beat everything, have the most traction, all the HP, the best 1/4, run 6:40, have turbos. BUt sometimes electric, sometimes NA, cost only 85k. The z06 can't do and be everything every single person wants lol.
You don't like something about the car, wait for the next variant.
