That’s basically what he told on the phone July 2020 when I called and got on the z06 list. He takes all your info and cc info but specifically says he won’t charge the card until the time comes and he will call/email you first.
I believe Mike doesn't take deposits on unannounced cars. But if you wanted a Stingray now, you would have to put down a refundable deposit. At some point soon (if he hasn't already) he'll start taking deposits for new additions to the Z06 list. Not sure he'll actually go back and start charging deposits for those previously on the Z06 (I think his "official" statement is that he will, but don't know if/when that would really occur).

Just curious, how do they divide the allocations of the same dealership to different sales?

This is a very good question and to my knowledge one we have no clear answer on.

To answer your question directly...I paid $1000 in November when I requested to get in line with them. Yes, actually paid $1000...invoice issued, card charged. Several others here have commented same. I don't think it means anything...Mike has a system he's used for years...you don't get a number, you're just 'in line'....when they work through the folders and yours comes up, they'll call. In several years.

I gave mike my cc info back in early 2017 and I indicated my interest in a high performance version of the C8 assuming one would be built. He said he wouldn’t charge the card until my car was ordered. At that time no one knew whether GM was going to build a Z06 or some other variant of the C8. I had totally forgot about this until the Z was announced. I have since been in touch with Mike and he has indicated I am near the top of his list for the Z. My understanding is that when I get the call to order the car he will apply the 1k payment toward the purchase price and perhaps request an additional down payment.

I was told when I paid my initial (refundable) deposit that when it came time to build/order my car, they would take an additional $4k down and at that point the entire $5k deposit becomes non-refundable.

Does Criswell intend to sell the Z06 at MSRP?

Yes that are 100% committed to msrp. Only caveat is they charge a 500 dealer fee. But that’s it.

Thanks, adding my name to the list (I emailed) knowing it will be late 2024 or beyond. Gotta start somewhere :-)

I reached out to him about a month ago and tried to get on his list. He told me he wasn’t adding anymore.

He told me he stopped adding to the list when it reached 1800.

I have to imagine he knows that over a certain point, he'd be taking deposits on a car he'd never be able to deliver on. If his current list takes him beyond the anticipated end of the C8 production based on what he anticipates his allocation to be, there's no point in taking people's money and having to effectively carry it as debt.

How does a dealer hand out ZO6 allocations to salesmen, when all but one have orders for less than 100, and one has 1800 orders? Date of order?

Not being snarky, but at the end of the day, which salesperson handles my transaction is of little consequence to me. As I understand it, Criswell maintains a single buyer list. How those buyers are divvied out to the salesmen, whether it's round robin, or tied to whoever took the call to put you on the list, doesn't really matter...the list is the list and the list is time-sequential based on when you were added.

Logically, their closed list of 1800 ZO6 orders would be in order of date ordered, customer name, and salesman name.
