Track rats, let's talk wheels and tires for the Z06
So it looks like there are only two options for stock tire sizes (275/30/20 front and 345/25/21 rear). The Cup 2Rs are around $3600 installed for a GT3RS, so my estimate for the larger ZP Cup 2Rs for the Z06 is $4000. Based on my experience with Cup2Rs, I would expect to get 2-3 track days out of these which makes for a very expensive track tire budget. The PS4S isn't a good option as the grip and heat tolerance isn't there.
I'm not sure a 19" wheel will clear the front brake caliper, but a 20 should be fine on the rear with a taller sidewall. That still doesn't solve the tire choice issue though unless moving to hoosiers or another slick. What are other folks thinking of doing for track tires? AP racing brake kit with 19" aftermarket wheels?

I'm hoping for one of two things: A) Toyo releases a 20" or 21" R888R (345/30/20 or 345/25/21) or B) 19" monoblock forged wheels clear the carbon rotors/calipers to run existing R888R sizes. I emailed Toyo recently requesting they consider developing those 20" or 21" sizes with the C8Z in mind.

I'm going non Z07 too as I want iron brakes. But the front rotors are 370mm and rear are 380mm so I doubt 18" will fit. That leaves 19"s, but the Supercar 3/3R only go to 325/30/19 which would be a full 1" shorter than the stock 345/25/21.

AP Racing upgrade if stock brakes with girodisk rotors aren't enough.

These 18s fit the ZL1 with roughly the same size brakes as the non Z07 brakes. So there may be hope:

Fwiw, the other day at VIR I ran a 718 Clubsport on Yokohama Advan A052 tires. First experience with them and it was the best street track tire I've ever used, and they were on their third heat cycle. The Michelin SC are great for a hero session or lap, but in my experience fade precipitously. I never got much more than three hours of hard DE on them before they gave up good lap times. My understanding is that the Advan will last about 6 hours of continuous endurance racing before giving up. Don't know if they make them in Z06 sizes but if I still tracked street cars that's what I'd use if available.

I had no intentions of tracking the Z06 due to cost of consumables and also it has been years since I regularly attended HPDEs.
However, what do you think would be the least expensive wheel/tire setup that would fit and be affordable for HPDE's?
I know "affordable" is different for everyone's wallet, but $4000+ for OEM 20/21 Cup2R's tires is very expensive to me if you can only get 3 or 4 HPDE weekends out of them.

The PS4Ss are fine if you're just going out to have fun and not chase lap times.

Right now, not much need for the tires the size on Z06, but once they make a few thousand, there will be more interest in making that size. Especially in track tires as those guys will go through more than 1 set a year.

I just did some surfing of the Pirelli web site. They make a 275/675-19 and a 325/705-19 slick which should be just about perfect. I know the AP 372mm kit fit under 18" wheels so I'm hoping someone will make 19" wheels that'll clear the CCBs.

I don't know the truth, but figured I'd bring it up here to get other's comments that might be able to confirm.
