Z on the Dragon?
Given recent sightings near Knoxville, if anyone has loads of free time you could scour 129photos.com and killboy.com to see if any prototypes were caught in action.
according to this post https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...6-in-camo.html one may have been there today.
Edit: 129photos posted photos day after taking. See post #8 below.
please post pics if you find any!

Saw some posted on FB already from Killboy. It’s the old prototype with side exit rear exhaust.

But according to many on this forum, a track-focused car like the Z06 is "useless on the street" not realizing that public roads like the Tail of the Dragon, which exist in some form all over the country (though maybe not nearly as long) are about using a car's all-around performance (turning, braking, lightweight nimbleness, acceleration) rather than just straight-line performance.

Even if driven to 7/10ths capability, that 7/10ths in a track-focused car is still faster/funner than 7/10ths in a slower, heavier, less grippy, longer-braking distance GT version of the same exact car.

Unless you are expecting someone to drive by and ask if you happen to have any Grey Poupon !

Here in Arizona, we have Mount Lemmon which is 30 miles of twisties and "Alpine" which, from Three-Way up to Alpine and back down through New Mexico is 205 miles of twisties, sweepers, and switchbacks. The old Highway 666, now Highway 191. The absolute best I've ever been on. And I've had the opportunity to test my driver skills on NurburgRing and HockenheimRing as well. Hands down, "Alpine" was the best!! In all of 205 miles, we passed maybe 10 cars. A bit remote, but great for wide open runs. 460 curves up one way and unsure how many down the New Mexico side.
As for Tail of the Dragon, I had more fun riding the Chehola Skyway, Blue Ridge Parkway, and riding 360 South to 165 and east to 143, and North 129 (To include the Tail), out to 72, onto 411 where I was staying. A nice 130 miles of beautiful scenery. I also hit up Gaitlinburg, and wound up in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. So much more to see than just the Tail of the Dragon. Don't forget to eat a fat, juicy cheeseburger at Apple Valley Mountain Village and Cafe!! Damn that was a huge burger!!!

I spent about 5 days at the Tail of the Dragon about two years ago. To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed.

@WICKEDFRC Having driven the roads all around Tail of the Dragon, plus up and down Mt. Lemmon many times, I agree. 100%
HWY 666 kept getting signs taken, so the name was changed. What else can I add to this thread, other than to say you are right

I really enjoyed NurburgRing too, but enjoyed the high speed of Autobahn 5 outside Frankfurt even better.
How do you TAG people?
