Wrong! You/we do not understand the mind and wallet of rich people. I work around them at a part time gig. Super nice folks but they have so much money 50 100k makes no difference. I work in a hood with mutli million dollar homes, many are second, third, etc homes. One dude has a winter home w 21000 sq ft for 2 people.
He wants a z06 he’ll have one right behind Hendrick.
We’re talking the last pure gasoline corvette. I get one I’m parking it!

Right. Private sales will absolutely occur. Just don’t expect any dealership offering MSRP to allow a transfer. Those paying the premium will need to go through private sales or high ADM.

Yeah, we were looking in the spring and it was like “it was $20k lot premium, then we upped it to $50,000, and then we just decided to sell to the highest bidder. Some lot premiums are $200,000, so don’t bother coming in if you won’t beat that.”
Good times…

I want a Z but at MSRP. I just saw some article on a few lesser known automotive pages that said it was realistically 3-4 years. I got on the list with Mike Furman. So if its 2024-2025, so be it, my C5 still works and I'm only 38...I think I have time.

GM’s track record regarding high-revving DOHC engines is far from stellar. Sure, the engineering of this new engine seems brilliant, but will the notorious GM corporate penny pinchers compromise it? To me, the new Z06 is a ‘wait and see.’ Hoping for the best, but no $50K over MSRP for me.

Here's my advice and hopeful words for anyone who really wants this car to drive it and who's feeling squeezed by the current market imbalance that's creating these markups.
You have to understand that there is a huge segment of reservations in the msrp dealers' systems from people who have zero interest in this car. It takes very little to roll the dice on a timestamp and a deposit. It's a low risk opportunity for speculators. At the front end those speculators will make a good profit flipping the car, but as these cars start getting delivered in higher frequency there are going to be a whole bunch of them hitting the market at the same time from people looking to get out quickly. At this level most people don't have a 'diamond hands' disposition, these are more get in and out quickly targets of opportunity to them. Pretty quickly the speculators will start underbidding each other as they see prices drop and try to get their cars sold before the other one hundred speculators on eBay. This happens slowly at first and then pretty quickly as the rats all try to get out of the ship at the same time.
Unless supply issues deteriorate even further my guess is that within a year of first deliveries the speculators and the 'drive car 500 miles for free and sell' crowd will clear out and all that will stabilize the market, at first at msrp and eventually below. So don't get dishartend by these supposedly three year waiting lists, when there's no profit to be made you'll be amazed how many people will bail and how quickly those shrink. ADM dealers and flippers love to reinforce that idea because they're more likely to get a larger premium if the purchaser thinks if I don't pay it I won't see the car for three years, don't fall for it.
Unless you've secured an msrp allocation by now, just be a little patient ... you will likely be able to pick up a Z06 at msrp or below in the not too distant future.

So I was sitting at a sidewalk cafe talking with this Korean actress I know and I told her I would pay $50,000.00 over sticker as long as nobody else was doing it. If everyone else pays that number then I have to pay $75,000.00. Be careful using bourgeoisie vibes, they are almost impossible to play with without them staining one's soul. SSSSNerrrrkkk! I just woke up! Wait! What is this thread? Ha! I got on a list at MSRP. Working class, Union and proud of it!
Damn. Where did she go, she was just here......?????
Trying again....ZZZZZZZ

It didn’t even have to be new construction as many resales especially those that went through extensive renovations folks made a killing. The market at least in the Jupiter area has stabilized since the end of summer.

I'm feel like finally spending some money, maybe I'll go all out and finally get me a C4 ZR-1
In all seriousness, Paying above MSRP will never happen, I rather wait get me a normal C8 when a forum member gets tired of it and the craze has passed. Get a great price, enjoy it and move on to something else used in new condition..

I’m all in at supplier pricing. Of course the way inflation is going that 50k mark up won’t even be a doc fee by the time a dealer will take supplier lol

IMO, anyone who thinks this will occur in the first 3-4 years after the car is available is smoking with dirty bong water.
