C7Z06 was advertised as 10.9 @ 129mph in the 1/4 yet guys have gone 10.4 low 130s bone stock stock tires shown on the fast list. If the C8Z is being advertised at 10.6 it's definitely got low 10s in it stock with optimal conditions.

So what? Only GM knows what the trap
speed is.
Doubtful that the Z06 will match the zr1
trap speed unless the c8 z06 has significantly
better aerodynamics than the zr1 allowing
for the power deficit to be canceled out.

That's what i'm saying.
BMW is NOTORIOUS for that. THey underestimate their numbers so bad.
That's why M3 and M4 competition guys are seeing 10s stock. And the car is advertised at 11.6. Their x-drive models are insane. They do not have 503hp lol. More like 590hp from factory lol.
There is no doubt GM does this as well.

it follows that GM does this also?

Wasn't it advertised at 127 trap?
Also, i think a stage 1 aero C8Z can trap 134. Idk about the heavily equipped aero cars.

Can the forum moderators create the ZR1 subforum so you guys take this negativity somewhere else already? I so was hoping on October 26 some individuals would stop posting here.
You are just upset you arent getting a Z06.

We will see . I doubt the c8 z06 will trap over
130-131 mph. It should have a quicker et
than the c7 z06, due to better traction.
How will it have the same trap speed as the
zr1 with significantly less power?

There is more to a performance of a car than its horsepower. Time to read and learn and keep up with the rest of world.
A car that has a transaxle dual clutch mounted to an engine is going to be minimum 5% more efficient than the one with a 5-6 feet long rotating assembly and an automatic torque converter. So a ZR1’s 755 is probably equivalent to 700 hp of a DCT/no torque tube car. Add all the other advantages above and you have your answer.

Huracan EVO does it even faster with even less power than the C8Z.

Less drag. Less unsprung mass. Better gearing. Less drivetrain loss.

Where did you find the difference in drag numbers and frontal areas ?
The dyno numbers I’ve seen indicate similar
driveline losses between the c7 and c8.
Zr1 is going to have more significantly more power under the
curve vs the c8 z06.
I highly doubt the z06 will trap the same speed
as the zr1. However, if it does, then kudos to GM
10.6 qtr is wicked fast for a street car.
Will be interesting to see what the numbers
are when it hits the street.

Huracan Evo data from https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...t-test-review/
3675 lbs
630 HP
442 lb-ft
2.5 0-60
10.5 @ 132.7
These numbers are all VERY close to the C8 Z06 expected numbers. Would therefore expect very similar performance.
With so much rear weight bias, the Z06 should still have a great launch, especially on an actual drag strip even without the AWD that the Evo has.
It's a tiny bit faster than your "it won't be faster than 131" but still slower than the ZR1. Not sure there's actually much to argue about here. Seems like the car could be very close to 132 or 133. Does seem unlikely that it'll be as fast as the ZR1, but I also thought there'd be no way GM would go for a 670 HP, 5.5L engine, I was thinking more like 620 if they went Naturally Aspirated. So, maybe the car will be pleasantly surprising in that respect as well, due to aero, drivetrain efficiency, or whatever.

That's what I got out of the video. The trap speed is still unknown. I think the trap speed will be less than 134 because the C8 Z06 will launch so much quicker and shift faster and have a lower final drive ratio. In a head to head drag race the C7 ZR1 will be reeling in the the C8 Z06 as they both hit the traps simultaneously which means the ZR1 will trap higher and still be faster in most roll races. The ZR1 has the better P/W but the C8Z has the better launch and the faster shifts and lower gearing negating it's P/W deficit against the ZR1 to produce an equal ET at a lower trap.
