I stated this a while back but the video I saw has them do launch control and shift into 4th at what sounded like full throttle, was just over 7 seconds, . I had said then and will say again now, this, by what I have seen, isn't going to be impressive straight line. it may do great on a track with handling, aero and brakes but this isn't going to be a straight line monster by any stretch of the imagination unless they have a trick up their sleeves.
So, if the numbers in your quoted post are correct, you honestly believe it’ll be slower to 100mph than the C8 Stingray?
Straight line speed isn’t the main objective, I agree, but I’d hope everyone can agree it’ll still be significantly faster than the Stingray in this performance metric. .

Not a fan of the BoobTubers, and try making those Boomer comments in the real world and see how that works out for you.

By your chart shouldn't it be 8.42 - 1.08 = 7.34 sec? Also, doesn't the giant bog from 1 to 2 sec seem strange? I watched a few videos of the C8 Stingray and it doesn't seem to bog like that during launch mode. Maybe they were tuning the algorithms and it wasn't working right yet in the video you are analyzing?

In another place I saw 99 mph at 8600. That would mean a transfer gear of 1.65 versus 1.46 for the Z51 or about 13% steeper gears with a slightly taller tire. That would mean about 69 mph in second gear assuming no gear ratio changes other than the transfer gear. so 60 mph or 100 kph will occur in 2nd. And then end of the quarter mile should still be in 4th.

0-100 mph in > 6.5 sec is terrible and disappointed ☹️

My calculations for MPH in gears are:
Z51
1st 35.5 2nd 58.7 3rd 84.6 4th 117.65
If we assume same 1st and 2nd gearing BUT the 8600rpm redline
Z06
1st 46.25 2nd 76.5 3rd 100.5 (1.34 ratio) 4th 122.3(1.1 ratio)
If you look at acceleration/ton which includes torque/weight/gearing
Of course those gears are guesses, but seems reasonable place to start.
I'll update the numbers once we know for sure.
<edit> Also note that for the acceleration numbers I am assuming 625HP and 480lb-ft of torque. The 480 is probably too high. Probably closer to 450. But because of the magic of gearing and RPM, it doesn't hurt the acceleration.

I used numbers that were very slightly different and got speeds within 1 MPH of your numbers through the first 4 gears. So it will be in that range. Math is math. What we don't know is if they changed the gear spacing any. Not sure there is a reason to add the cost. Maybe they would to make the 0-60 very slightly stronger.

I agree that straight line acceleration isn't the primary goal of this car. To me it's about FUN on the track. It's not about what some hot shoe can do with Cup2R's. If it's a turd in the acceleration department that will significantly affect the fun department. Glad I'm far enough down the list to get a second year car so I can see if it's actually worth six figures or not first.

Happy that you got a significantly less powerful car, with less expandability/mods, then a Twin Turbo would have provided ?????
Now, you'll be ridiculously overcharged for a completely new, more complicated, and unproven 4valve flat plane crank powerplant, that should have been the base engine for the $60k 2020 C8.
Now, all performance models will be significantly more expensive, with ZO6 buyers paying ZR1 money for forced induction, and ZR1 buyers paying Porsche 911 Turbo money for the Zora.
This is terrible news, unless you have more money than sense.
Based on posts, many here are have none of the latter.

I posted this after the launch testing. So we can speculate 0-100 in 8.4ish. Here are some others for reference (gathered from accelerationtimes.com):
GT2RS: 5.3
GT3RS: 6.1
720S: 5.2
C7Z: 6.7
C7ZR1: 5.9
C8: 6.9
They must not have been WOT during the launch testing because this would be embarrassing.

Also if Z06 weighs 3600 lbs and makes 620 hp, it has better power to weight ratio than GT3RS and could do the same time given it has DCT.
