Has the Dealer Mark up, the Flippers, the Wait…
Etc. Lessened your enthusiasm for the Z06?

It has definitely put a damper on my enthusiasm. Really tired of the release dragging out for multiple reasons
I'm still hoping I can get one but if not I'll be fine. I only come here now to see if there's any updates I've missed. Tired of the N/A vs TT debates and wishbone hate as well.
When's the C9 coming out? Lol C8 feels old already. I think im just worn out from all of it. Should have kept my c7z

Not really.
Within a few weeks after the reveal I'll probably fade away from this forum and just forget about it. Some day I will get the call and I will place my order. This appears to be the Corvette I've been saying I wanted them to make since I was about 15 years old in the late 1990's. So I can wait a few years to get my car.

Its not just the Z06, its everything. Anything that is remotely hot is bought up by the gotta-have-its and the flippers and resold for huge sums. Its EVERYTHING. It definitely lessons my enthusiasm. Social media has played a huge roll on this.

I'm still excited. The only thing that lessened my enthusiasm is finding out that my place in line is like 3 years past everyone else when I thought I was coming to the table relatively early since it hasn't even been revealed yet. I'm just ready to get past the reveal hump so I can just wait patiently for my time to come. I want to get one last NA V8 car before everything is turbo or hybrid or electric. If this isn't it, I'll just get a regular C8 but I definitely think we're looking at the last hoorah of the NA sports cars either way.

Nope. In the position to buy my first new Corvette. The NA and TT pre release debate is ridiculous, but I can separate that from the car. I feel the. Forum “stylists” that hate this or that are a bit ridiculous as well. In the old days they just customized the car, like flared fenders and additional or different taillights, so why not do it now? Excited for the reveal….

Flippers? No. I've never been concerned with how others spend their money. I have no way to confirm it's causing additional delay for me.
Dealer Mark-up? Yeah that kind of sucks. My dealer sold all C8's at MSRP but mentioned they are getting 10 Z06's as dealer stock that most likely will be marked up. They still plan to allow customers to order and the orders will be at MSRP but you start at #11.
The wait? Most definitely. My 2020 C8 took so long that I ran out of content to keep me excited and started to question if I wanted it...until I was about a month out.
One thing I can say is that the wait is making me reconsider and go for the E-Ray. I like the LT2 engine in the Stingray. It just needed a little more power. If the E-Ray has that + an electric motor in the front (plus sexy wide body) that may actually be the better corvette for me. The FPC is awesome if you track it but after a while on the street, you can find yourself over-stressing the car just to feel it because of the long power band. At least that was the case with my GT350.

Yea because the chances of getting a car for MSRP are very low if the likes of Kerbek start doing the ADM game.

Although if the car isn't NA, i'm still getting it. I hope MM will stay true to their word on MSRP though. Because this car will be able to get flipped for like 50k+ easy.

I checked with a local dealer and they’re doing silent auctions for their cars. They hate the flippers and want the extra $$$$$ for themselves. Highest bidder obviously wins (or loses depending upon your perspective).

I think I’m just tired of waiting to see the price and the difference in trims. Z07 is my wish. This and the fact that although I have a good place in line, it’s a guaranteed markup of 20k+ - I’ve been clearly told. I don’t trust the dealer I have a spot with - that there won’t be some other crazy financial catch they think up. I don’t really trust any of them in California where I live. Feels like they’re just going to exploit the heck out of the demand. I’m saving every penny I have in hopes I can maximize my chances of getting what I want. But I’m just worried I’ll end up priced out and have to back out. I missed the boat on the early birds and the MSRP dealers.
The pandemic did no favors for anyone; just added to the lack of bargaining leverage of any kind. Not that there even is any in this case. Anyway. I guess I just want to get moving and see this beauty and hope and pray I can pull it off and get my dream car.

I was honestly starting to feel that way about the Z. It had gone so long without any real info, teasers, or even confirmation that it exists or when it might be coming, that I found myself becoming kinda disinterested. That and as others have mentioned, the constant, repetitive & snarky TT vs NA debates were really wearing thin on me, and started sucking the joy out of talking about the car, even when off the forum.
But, since the ring footage was released and then the reveal date came out, I have found myself FINALLY getting back into that same level of excitement I felt when I first saw the heavily camo’d prototypes way back in early 2020.
I’m all good now. I’m excited, and I’m all in, regardless of what engine it has.

I don’t think that’s gonna be an issue as I’ve had a folder with Criswell for over 13 months now with the agreement of MSRP plus $500 doc fee.
Anxious for the 26th and for all the bickering to end. At least over the NA vs TT…

My excitement has dwindled this summer/fall yes. It's been a long wait and I am kind of over it. But regardless of how I have been feeling the last few months, the moment the car is revealed on the 26th I will be fully hyped up again and everything prior will be irrelevant.

For me the current mark up some dealers want for the Z06 is outrageous. I had one in my area tell me $25k over MSRP. I had another dealer tell me $10k and when I told him I would want for MSRP he tried to scare tactic me with the ADM talk.
I don't explicitly blame the flippers for taking advantage of the market, I don't exactly like it but I feel its just business. I personally know a guy who has already bought and sold 3 C8's. He buys them, has them for about a day and sells them to a dealer for big profits. I wish those went to actually enthusiasts, but I can't control that.
I was very excited when the C8 was announced. I thought in a few years I could get one for a good price. But the shortage and demand has made me entirely rethink my plans. Now I am planning to blow my budget and get a Z06 before the combustion engine fades from existence and is replaced with electrics.

As to mark ups and flipping a car…..having the ability to disappoint you about the car?
There may be a time, someday far out in the future or tomorrow, where when you drive it off the lot you lose $10,000.00. That was NORMAL. The car is so good, and perhaps some inflation taking hold, that many will pay more. Have you gone to a Ferrari dealership and asked to buy a new F8? How about a new Acura sedan or a Telluride. The stories here are bigger and very different than what you are “seeing” with a narrow view of only C8 dealers and a car that is so in demand. Look at everyone who has a car and knows that they can sell it for more than they paid, but then can’t get another one. Many of us have never had the opportunity to buy such a car.
would the Ford GT model be better, putting a two year “hold period” and selling at list price when they accept your application? You are in the C8 forum wanting a car that is beyond the reach for 90 percent of the population of the USA. This car is an exciting market offering, perhaps the most exciting offering from Gm in decades. It’s comical that I felt I sent my money in so late, two years ago, and felt I missed the boat. But the MacMulkin list is getting close to 1000 long….and the details of it are COMPLETELY unknown, and it’s not announced yet!
Can you imagine that this has that ever happened before on a Chevrolet car that will probably cost in excess of $120,000.00?

So I just don’t see how a car that’s in demand can disappoint you. If you need to stay in the “C” cars, try Citroen…..they generally come with a dowry…
