Wow! I wonder how many cars have similar curves in the front end. Don't look or this could go on all day!!!

Wow, they are practically identical. So much in fact could you please label which photo is the Vette and which is the Truck. I hope now I when I take delivery they don't give me the wrong vehicle. On a similar note, have any of you ever noticed the similarity between a Jet Ski and an Aircraft Carrier? I almost rented the wrong on the other day at the Marina

It is almost like they are made by the same manufacturer. You know, some sort of brand identity. It is absolutely crazy. I mean none of the BMWs or Porsches, Ferraris have any similitude between the models……. Oh wait, they do….

First you guys said OP was crazy, now you’re admitting they share brand identity. Which is it?

I will answer for me. His question was “Is it Me or does the Z06 Resemble a Silverado HD from the front fender??”. I don’t believe it “resembles” a Silverado HD from the front fender. I stand by that. The Corvette fender is not big and square. Just because two sister have creases in their pants, but one is 5’4” and 105 lbs and the other is 6’ 4” and 350 lbs that they resemble each other. But maybe they both have the family ears. So when you look closely and go hey maybe they are related.

So yes, his question was an apparent attempt to insult the styling of the Corvette and it failed.

OP is dead on. I initially really despised the corner notch but it is kinda growing on me. Makes the front look wider and meaner which I believe is what GM was going for. I also despise the additional line on the fender; this may also grow on me.

Also resembles the Nissan GTR.

Brand design language carries through all Chevrolet's, including the Corvette, and its more than just fender sweeps. The tail lights of all the Chevrolet cars share similar design elements. The rear bumper trapezoidal format carries through several cars in the lineup. The front bumper upper splitter (black on the Corvette but chrome on most of the cars) carries through the whole lineup.

Chevrolet leadership is deliberately using the Corvette as a way to drive the brand. I personally would love to see a Corvette that the designers could remove all the branding design elements - I think the car would end up stunning. But that isn't what the leadership wants. They want people to see a Chevy Cruze and thing its fun looking like the Corvette. Or the Blazer. Or the Traverse. On and on. They all share styles because they want you to think of them all together as a family.

So yes, there is definitely resemblance with the Silverado HD, just like you can find these same cues on the rest of the lineup if you are paying attention to the details.

Note: I still think its a beautiful car and plan to own a HTC Z06 or eRay one day.

But in this case it’s the Corvette taking styling cues from the Silverado not the other way around.

It appears that way, but I think what's important to consider is that these "design theme" elements are likely all on sketches in a file somewhere and they are completely agnostic as to what vehicle the theme is applied to. Meaning that front fascia design was an element on a concept sketch at some point that made it onto the Silverado before it made it onto a Corvette. I don't think all the elements are present at any given time, and often are added or removed as the model years are refreshed. So just because it made it to the Silverado first doesn't mean the Corvette is mimicking the Silverado - just that it was quicker to adopt the overarching design element.

There will always be some amount of the common elements on every car, though. in America, branding is King.

Silverado's are excellent selling vehicles. Why should it surprise you that they look similar?

^^^ Apple to oranges comparison.

Comparing a Corvette to a Silverado doesn't bode well. That tells me the OP has WAAAAY too much time on his hands.
