Wow, they are practically identical. So much in fact could you please label which photo is the Vette and which is the Truck. I hope now I when I take delivery they don't give me the wrong vehicle. On a similar note, have any of you ever noticed the similarity between a Jet Ski and an Aircraft Carrier? I almost rented the wrong on the other day at the Marina

It is almost like they are made by the same manufacturer. You know, some sort of brand identity. It is absolutely crazy. I mean none of the BMWs or Porsches, Ferraris have any similitude between the models……. Oh wait, they do….
Have you guys lived under a rock your whole life?

So yes, his question was an apparent attempt to insult the styling of the Corvette and it failed.

OP is dead on. I initially really despised the corner notch but it is kinda growing on me. Makes the front look wider and meaner which I believe is what GM was going for. I also despise the additional line on the fender; this may also grow on me.
Also resembles the Nissan GTR.

Brand design language carries through all Chevrolet's, including the Corvette, and its more than just fender sweeps. The tail lights of all the Chevrolet cars share similar design elements. The rear bumper trapezoidal format carries through several cars in the lineup. The front bumper upper splitter (black on the Corvette but chrome on most of the cars) carries through the whole lineup.
Chevrolet leadership is deliberately using the Corvette as a way to drive the brand. I personally would love to see a Corvette that the designers could remove all the branding design elements - I think the car would end up stunning. But that isn't what the leadership wants. They want people to see a Chevy Cruze and thing its fun looking like the Corvette. Or the Blazer. Or the Traverse. On and on. They all share styles because they want you to think of them all together as a family.
So yes, there is definitely resemblance with the Silverado HD, just like you can find these same cues on the rest of the lineup if you are paying attention to the details.
Note: I still think its a beautiful car and plan to own a HTC Z06 or eRay one day.

There will always be some amount of the common elements on every car, though. in America, branding is King.

^^^ Apple to oranges comparison.
Comparing a Corvette to a Silverado doesn't bode well. That tells me the OP has WAAAAY too much time on his hands.
