I've said it in other posts - I think a lot of people are going to be upset with the straight line speed of the Z - from what I see this isn't going to be an awfully powerful car. Well handling for track yes, powerful no.
Check out this vid and time it from stop to top of 3rd - no doubt they are pushing it as hard as it will go. It's just over 7 seconds to top of 3rd which should be 90 something miles per hour - that's not that fast at all.

Sounds great. Other than a slight difference due to the larger fpc engine the sound is similar to the fpc engine in my 2019 GT350, except for slightly less sound due to longer exhaust system.

Looking forward to the nasties that have always been on this "hobby" site, one that theoretically exists for fun things. Unfortunately a naiive description as to what it should be, but factual.

To minimize the avalanche of heresy comments I still love my C7 Z06 and 1968 IMSA TransAm L88 race car (awarded top qualifying top speed record, Daytona - 1973 at 222 mph - quite a few race cars the, and now, cannot reach that speed. A car with an iron and flexible chassis, and without fuel injection).

Interesting comment. We just watched a Z06 easily walk away from a 3100 lbs 300km/h 120K car and apparently it's not fast at all...

Right? I know I’m not getting out of line..if anything what I’ve seen in the last couple of weeks has me even more excited.
The Z06 is goin to be dominant. Can’t wait to laugh in these naysayers faces this fall.

That "slight difference" you are hearing is because it's a smaller displacement TT engine, more in line with a Ferrari F154 engine than your GT350. And I like your taste in cars!

GT350 will still have a unique sound because of it's firing order.

The GT4 up top is where it should lay down where a car with substantially more hp should dominate. That was a very slow walk. This is assuming though the Z was giving it's all. I do further back that it's not that quick with the other video where they launch it and seem to stand on it through the first 3 gears. Assumptions are made but even if that is 0-100 - not impressive again assuming they are pushing the Z. Trust me - I hope it's fast as hell - I'm on the list and have been for quite some time but I also want to be realistic - straight line it doesn't seem like it will be that fast. Hopefully I am wrong

How uninspiring, doubt the Z06 was wide open.

To entertain that a 400HP frog car could keep up with the C8Z would be to suspend disbelief and all reason.
Next thing you know we will be comparing it to the Boxter as well.

You can ear the GT4 opening all up before the Z06. Substantial weight advantage with a jump ahead to boot and that walk was starting to become downright embarrassing and that is why the driver cut it off.

If the Z06 "only" had 200 more hp and weighed 700lbs more, it's about what I'd expect with the Porsche getting a jump and having gearing more set up for top speed.

One thing I'll tell you- that's NOT a 300, 350, 400hp difference. I think the low 600s rumors are true for that car.

But.... is it a 3,100 lbs car?
