That is probably true however GMAUTHORITY is NO authority. This article cites no sources and appears to be a guess.

I tend to believe them at this point. I believe that the time is a bit rushed for a Z06, we should be seeing a lot more of them on the road testing and exercising. The car as awaited as it is, MUST be excellent as the GT500 and others are established and known. I would say that another two runs of test cars (20 units total) would probably be built in the next year to prove the changes and upgrades to the C8 platform.

I hope to see one in the next year and photograph the VIN number!

I totally believe it to be honest. Nothing we're seeing or hearing indicates that any announcement is even remotely near by. My guess is there is approx another year for announcement of the z06 then production starts 3rd quarter or so of 22 as 23 models. So basically a year plus change before the first cars are even thinking about getting into the first owners hands. Probably more like a year and a half.

GM Authority despite their name has ZERO authority to report anything per The General. They are about as accurate as some of our vlog /you tube sources.
2023 MY they are way behind on that news ....
Check back next year around this time

With the various plane closures and remaining demand, it is easy to believe the the Z06 what pushed out 6mo-1yr.

^agreed... if it was going to be a '22 car it would have been announced/revealed already. Doesn't make sense to build them out as half model year cars either.

It could be a MY 2023, released late this year or 1st Q of next year. It is all just speculation and I agree GMAuthority isn't any authority except in their own mind.

Here's another hint: it wasn't delayed. But never mind the guy that's been hinting that same thing to ya'all for the last half year or so. ;-)

So you're suggesting reveal this year as a '22 or next year as a '23?

You can mix and match a bunch of engine components (TT, SC, FPC, DOHC, etc.) and get a wide variety of performance stats like HP, torque, lap times, 0-60, quarter mile etc. I will wait for the official GM stats to decide how good I believe the C8 Z06 will be.

His point might be that the planned date hasn't slipped, therefore it can't be delayed regardless of when they do reveal it. If they planned to reveal it in 23, then it's not delayed until 23, it's just their plan is different for C8 than C6 and C7.

Of course, since nobody can call them out on it, it's very easy to claim "this was the plan all along".

Disappointing but not surprising.... I'm going to hang on to my Z06 deposit, and stay in line, but not expecting anything any time soon.... just punted and bought a Cayman... I have to move on with my life.... if a nice C8 Z51 wanders buy at an attractive price, I may bite, but not holding my breath....

When I was 3 years old I used to ask my mother "when's Christmas?" in the middle of July... reminds me of that..... alot....

I have a deposit in on a Z06, but may decide to go ahead and try and get a C8 in the meantime. MacMulkin Chebrolet said they already have about 650 deposits in. I'm so far back on the list that it could be the 3rd model year of the Z06 before I ever get one.

Meanwhile…..I’m going to love the one I’m with. Looking forward to seeing it but also having an absolute blast with the one I have now. So many great corvettes to play with for the next year or two.
