Default Sacrificing Comfort With a Z06 vs a Stingray ?

I'm curious how much if any comfort will be sacrificed moving from a Non Z51 Stingray to a base Z06... I have my deposit in for a Z06 but I really don't want to sacrifice any significant level of the comfortable ride in my Stingray. I really just want more power, a better sounding FPC exhaust note and the more aggressive widebody look. I don't really want a huge rear wing or a car so low with aero that it bottoms out everywhere and has a jarring rough ride or excessive brake dust. Not looking for any vibration or buzzyness either.

Does everyone just concede that the Z06 will be less comfortable ? Was it that way with the C7, C6 and C5 generations ?

It won't be any less comfortable than the C5, C6 or C7 Z06's IMO. To me, they have all been very comfortable cars. I actually hope it is a bit more edgy and light than the base car. A base, 1LZ will have plenty of standard features and will likely be equipped with Mag Ride.

I doubt that it will be less comfortable than a Z51. Probably have mag ride so adjustable stiffness with touring be as comfortable as any model. Seating will probably be the same, which are comfortable (IMHO). Maybe some added aero bits, but won't affect comfort. My C7 Z06 with Z07 options was comfortable and rode well in touring and the C8 feels smoother than that one.

This all sounds good... I'm relatively new to Corvettes. Will the Z06 typically be summer tires only or will there be an AS tire available ?

It will be a summer tire only. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in the regular Z06 and then super aggressive Pilot Sport Cup 2R's in the Z07 package.

Thanks... Hopefully we get some better wheel options... I imagine they may add some new wheels for the 2022 Stingray as well as it seems to be a sore spot with almost all buyers and reviewers.

Possibly by the end of June we will receive the 2022 Corvette specifications guide from GM Authority.

I think it really depends on your definition of comfortable, but my C7 Z06 with the Z07 package is Quite comfortable for me, and a very nice ride in my opinion. Mine is VERY tastefully modded, bolt on with extra cooling, 720 rwhp, drives GREAT! I have a deposit on the C8 Z06, but will also keep my C7 Z, as well as my Blown C5...

The answer is subjective and it is slightly complicated giving that you have base stingray without MRC. I suggest that you have to drive the car to have a conclusion.

In my opinion, cars without MRC doesnt feel comfort but rather it has hazy feeling. MRC for me is a must option it gives a good balance between firm comfort feeling in tour mode and aggressive feeling in track mode.

In C7 generation, tour mode in any Z06 will never be as smooth as base stingray with or without MRC because of the wide tires that give more fraction (major factor) and I believe MRC tuning in Z06 is more stiff. I can say Tour mode in C7 Z06 = sport mode in C7 Z51.

^ The springs are going to be more aggressive as well. It will have a stiffer suspension all-around.

Years ago we used to have to give up a lot for performance but nowadays you give up almost nothing especially if you get the Mag ride option

Realistically, this will not be a problem. The summer only tires it will come with will be "consumed" withing the first year. After that you can put whatever tires you want on it.

I've had my C8 Stingray for about 3 weeks. Plenty of power for me. Probably faster than 98+% of cars on the road. Please enlighten me on why you need / want more.

As already stated, the C7 Z was super comfortable, especially compared to alot of other "firm" riding cars I have owned. Just all around excellent.
I would assume the same will be for the C8 Z.

Wider tires hitting more road imperfections and sifter sways will contribute to a less comfortable ride. I don't know how much of that they can tune out in the tour setting of the Mag shocks.
