Turbos will go next to the engine. Not behind it. We've known this for almost 3 years now.

Anyone able to get a size off the rear tires on the prototypes?

Could this be all 3 models (GS, Z06, ZR1)?
Look at 3 and 4 (TT ZR1) and they have the white fascia piece that was suggested to hide the turbos.
Car 6 and Car 1 (NA Z06) rear ends don't seem to have the white piece.
Number 7 (GS) has the traditional C8 rear end with exhaust on the outside.
I have watched the video and you can't really se the white piece on cars 3 and 4 so I don't think the video answers the question either. Car 3 and 4 sound to me definitely sound different than cars 6 and 1. Just a thought...

Your ending statement is true, that's called the zr1.
Gm isn't throwing all their eggs in one basket with the z06 lol
Otherwise theres little left for improvement for the following models.. no one will need to buy the following variants. Just have the z06 be the final c8 variant.

Being told that the windshield reflection pic is David Wesel.
Regardless, there’s no question that he was tipped off... possibly by GM themselves for a controlled leak.

About a year or two ago, there was rumor that the Corvette team engineers petitioned to move the exhaust to a center configuration due to sound tuning for the FPC engine. If my memory serves me correctly, this was before we started seeing center exhaust configuration mules in the wild.

To me it looks like other cars used a black concealment panel to hide the turbos.
It’s also nice to see the widebody taking form.
Note traditional fenders behind the front tire, not the C8R cutout fenders some artists have rendered.
I’m very curious about the padding on the hood. I’m sure it’s for much needed aero as an outlet for the radiator/heat exchangers but curious how they made it work with respect to the cargo area below. Maybe the center area of the bumper is opened up considerably versus the base model’s black nosepiece as I don’ see how the base model nosepiece could possibly flow air towards the centerline of the hood.

Can someone do a detailed measured comparison of the rear pic of car 7 and compare it with stock? It looks wider when you first see it....but is it?
The key to me is the external rear view mirror, and where it sits in relation to the forward windsheild post. that part of the car should be the same. Also, could the car be wider, but taper back to use stock taillight panel parts? Would be tough to spot that way but possible. I do not think its possible to "decide" which is what when it comes to Z06 or ZR1. Its difficult to say what is there. I want a twin turbo car most of all, but have to wait like everyone. In the cad renderings of a twin turbo setup the turbos are low and forward with lots of shielding. In my mind there is no blank off plate needed to "hide the turbos". They would be very tough to see anyway. I also don't count a 'blip" of the throttle as a "rev". Its ok, but not what I needed. I want to hear a long pull. Line the spy shot out of San Diego on the hill.... to me that is what we need. And its interesting to compare that sound with these...

I’m sticking to one model is being tested here and it’s the Z06. If it were 2 models it would be the e-ray or whatever they end up calling it but no chance we are seeing a ZR1 this early. A ZR1 would end up around the 5th model year, no?

Original plan was stingray 2020, z06 2021, eray or grandsport 2022 and zr1 2023.
why wouldn't they test these NEW PLATFORMS early? Do people not want testing for longevity?
People can't keep comparing to the past. The formula is different now. Everything is different.

GM often doesn't stick to past precedent as we've seen from prior generations, and I'm not just talking about the ZR1.

In the video as they were pulling out the #7 car sounded different from the others.

I agree... testing a Z06, ZR1, and E-Ray all at the same time just isn’t believable to me.

don't forget, gm didn't have covid in 2020 as part of their plan.

Look at the C7 rollout for an example.
2014: Stingray
2015: Z06
2017: Grandsport
2019: ZR1
You don't release 4 models in 4 years lol. The Z06 may have been delayed a year yes, but the E-Ray/Grandsport was probably always planned for 2023, and you wont see a ZR1 until 2025 or later.
