VIDEO: Just ran Ozark International Raceway & WOW!
Update: Video added post #7
Quick review of OIR. The C8 is absolutely amazing. Coming from over 25yrs experience and tracking Porsches, I can easily say the C8 Z51 is absolutely amazing at what it can do. At 10/10ths competitive driving in 30 minute sessions, my C8 was perfect all day. OIR takes a few sessions to learn. The elevation changes and blind hills are exhilarating at 126mph. At this track, that’s really fast top speed. Even with 3.8 miles, it’s all about car placement, throttle control, and braking. No over heating issues or power reduction on a 70 degree day.
Due to all the positive g-forces and car getting light over the crests, off camber turns, and abrupt table tops, I ran on Track-Sport-1. Didn’t have too much intervention when smooth and definitely used the computers when needed over crests or through the eases.
I got the fastest time of day and achieved my goal of 2:50 on my first day. Actually did a 2:47.1. Had girodisc rotors, cobalt track pads, and Falken stickies? And SOUL exhaust. Car was unbelievable on braking, handling, feedback, car control, and acceleration. The C8 delivered everything that was asked of it.
Even “learned” the new track using PDR and lap timing functions flawlessly. Can’t remember when a video system worked perfect all day. The crowds gathered around my car after every session to watch the vids.
Stay tuned for In-car video soon.

Top shelf facility already as a new place. Buildings, conf rooms, private suites, medical center, etc. Extra wide paddock and pit areas. Plenty of concrete. all the curbing and extra patches are stained concrete….not painted….so the morning dew or moisture doesn’t make them slippery. Cool stuff like this.
More dangerous or more challenging? There is an extra level of skill or challenge b/c of the elevations and blind corners and crests. However, it’s so different from everything else it’s exciting. You have to study, think, and put it all together to do it at speed. It meets all the FIA requirements for safety. Has wide track where you need it.

Watching my PDR vids, I found a new personal best. A 2:47.01. I was on a new best lap for a solid 2:46 when a Porsche GT2 RS (driver) slowed me up and prevented that best time. Makes me want to go back.
I was aware of the compression zones and was concerned since I lowered my car and ran 18/19 set up. However, no bottoming out for me. I was glad. And I was getting some major compression at speed.
Here is video of my best session. Does link work?
* warm up lap
* hot laps start at 3:40

Nice video. Geez! That track layout is like driving a roller coaster. Where’s the straightaway? Ha. Need a great setup to drive fast on that track and you apparently nailed it. Great drive.

The back straight is actually called “roller coaster”. And yes, a prepped car recommended for this track (brake pads, brake fluid, tires).
Thanks for the 🥕! Fun to see what slicks can do.
