They sound like they're going off of the Chevrolet dealer book hours for R & R of headers, I could see that. Meanwhile, the tech will do it in 4 hours. I'm not saying guys don't have the right to make money but 16 hours is ridiculous for an indy shop to charge.

I did mine DIY working solo in my garage at home, no lift, no air tools, and would say I had less than 10 hours into it. For professional shop, I would say 8 hours max would be the limit of fair. Get some competing quotes, ideally from shops that have done the job before. Doing it again in the same conditions, I would say 6 hours would be realistic.
