Does the OEM spoiler have any affect on quarter mile times/speeds to any degree, or does the limiting factor not come into play until higher speeds? I simply assumed that the spoiler wouldn't affect much other than top speed, because I wouldn't imagine that there would be much consistent drag during a quarter mile run. I imagine it doesn't affect acceleration, but since some have the opinion that it does, I wanted to see if anyone here could set the facts straight.
Has anyone seen any YouTube channels post C8 top speeds with and without the spoiler? Any quarter mile runs with and without the spoiler on the same car?

A top speed of 194 MPH for the base car.
C8 Z51 will do 184 mph flat out. Blame that 10-mph deficit on the additional drag generated by its aerodynamic body add-ons, notably it's rear wing.

Are you aware of any difference in the quarter mile because of aerodynamics? I guess that could be tough to figure, tho, since the rear axle ratio is different on the Z51.

In old documents Chevrolet says that both cars does the 1/4 in 11.3 at 121mph. The Z51 cars have additional drag from more areas then the splitter and spoiler. The big front bumper holes that direct air to the front brakes add drag, the third radiator situated in the passenger side air scoop add drag too. How much is unknown. If both cars had the same diff ratio you could see the effect of the additional drag. What is funny to me is that the final drive of the base vs z51 is 4.89 vs 5.17. So the Z51 have 5.7% shorter gearing and knowing that the base hit 194mph top speed and the Z51 184mph, the gearing alone could explain the difference in top speed.

11.2@121 is the GM spec for the C8 Z51 and 11.2@123 for the base model, here’s the difference in gearing for the 1/4 and top speed. I’d say top speed is drag dependent on both as both occur at 6000rpm and the base is geared perfectly for the top of 4th in the 1/4...

HiWing might have a bit less drag per pound-downforce but since it has more DF, it is likely a wash.
