Like some others, I have had 2 Z51 C8's, one without MSRC and the current car with. While I like the ability to make suspension changes, overall there's not a huge difference for me. I think it depends on where and how you drive. IMO it is not a "must have". It's like the "lift" feature, I have it now (not before) and like it, but I could definitely live without it (Z51 too) especially if I wanted to keep the build price down. If price is not a factor, get all 3 options, but it will still be a great car even without them.

I have a Z51 MSRC (FE4) and keep it set at full soft because my roads are terrible in some parts. But there are rare special moments I tighten it up, sometimes to full stiff depending on road. Having access to toggle between those dual personalities is truly an engineering feat that I wouldn't want to be without.

It may not be a "must have" but I can say that my wife, not a "car gal", noticed immediately when I switched from My Mode, where I have the suspension set as stiff as it will go, to Tour Mode. If she noticed it I know it makes the ride better. There is a reason Ferrari bought a license to use it.

Definitely not a "must have." I had it on my Z51 C7 and don't miss it at all on my C8. Ask yourself, how many other vehicles you've own that had it? If it hasn't been too many...then you don't really need it. I do recommend 2Lt, though.

My 650ix BMW has it and I never take it out of "Comfort+" which is the softest setting. And there is no question that MSRC changes the "stiffness" of the suspension. But stiffer is not necessarily better.

The key word I said was dampen. It comes down to soft ride vs smooth ride on rough roads in tour mode. I’ll take the smoothest any day, thanks. I’ll also take the stiff suspension option with MSRC when I want it. Those are the things it allows, a must have on my car.

Coil overs? No.
But is the mag ride a higher end option that improves everything? Yes.
just not the profound difference from the FE corvettes imho.
I had 2 C7s and a C6. (Z06s).

A must, when spending this much for a car. I know whenever I drove over a rough patch of road, I would think, I cheaped out and should have got the mag ride. That’s worth it for me.

Here is my 2 cents after having both - First was a '23 and due to constraints was forced to order a Z51 without mag ride which was total opposite from what I had planned on ordered, but I was tired of waiting so ordered it anyway. Ride was great, and living in the country, it's never in sport mode always in tour. Received an allocation for an early '24 and was able to order my non Z51 with mag ride. Car is now 6 months old with 3000 miles, and honestly, I can't tell that mag ride has made any difference for me. Granted when you're in sport mode, you can feel the difference, but like i said earlier, i never drive in sport mode.. So as others have said, it totally depends on what you plan on doing with the car and how you plan on driving it.

MSRC, is not a must have. Especially being that you're on a tight budget. I'd order NPP as the only option, and call it done.

You'll be fine without it...
As your daily driver on bad roads as you say, if you did get it, you'd most likely be using the Tour setting all the time, which equates to base suspension...
So, if the $2k is out of the budget, pass on it.

Question is, how will you use the car? Assume not tracking it as no Z51. So perhaps just as every day/occasional driver on typical average roads with reasonable speeds and occasional burst? If so, you don’t need Mag ride. I’ve had both, a ‘23 with and ‘24 without. You get a good ride w/o Mag even on occasional bumpy roads. Save the money given your budget concerns.

In commiefornia where we have the crappiest most expensive roads its a must. I mean, sure, you can survive without it, but even in tour, which I use mostly, it makes a big difference.

I added it because I have read nothing but positive things about it since gm first developed it. Many other manufacturers have licensed its use. How often does that happen?
The C8 is a high performance car with big wide tires all of which is generally not good for a smooth ride. Overly stiff suspension is my number one complaint on every performance car I have ever owned.
My Z51 has the Mag ride and I think it’s amazing and well worth the cost. I’m pretty sure it was less than $2k…. Amazing value for money…. To me…. If it was $5k would have hesitated…. My high performance C8 rides better than my daily AMG…. Better than my wife’s Subie…. I’m impressed every time I drive it….
Generally I’m underwhelmed with this kind of thing but in this case it works as or better than advertised….

My '24 is a non-Z51 with Mag Ride. I didn't want/need the Z51 package, but wanted the ability to up the suspension settings for occasionally more spirited driving. Very happy with this decision. The only other option I got was chrome badging. Oh, and chrome lug nuts. Gotta have chrome lug nuts...
