[Advice]24' Corvette C8Z06 or 13' Ferrari FF
Hello,
I'm pretty new to Ferrari territory. I know it might seem odd to compare these two, but I'm open to people's advice.
Let me introduce my situation: My fully loaded C8 Z06 will be delivered this summer with 3LZ, NO Z07. Consequently, the price increase means I could consider purchasing a 2013 Ferrari FF with 20k miles in good shape. I would appreciate your thoughts on acquiring a used Ferrari FF.
Here's some information about myself and my car usage:

Here's some information about myself and my car usage:
- My last car was a 2020 Shelby GT500, and I loved it.
- Either the C8 or FF will see the road course 3-4 days per year. It will be normal track driving—no aggressive maneuvers or time attacks.
- I already own an Escalade and a Fiat. Therefore, the C8 or FF will serve as a Weekend Warrior and be driven to work 1-2 times per week when the weather is good.
- None of the members of my community/car tribe own both cars. This means they are all unique within my tribe.
- I am 28 years old and find satisfaction in both driver's seats. While each offers a different style, I appreciate both for their characteristics.

Well, it looks like my eye doesn't see something most others see. To me the FF is not a good looking car. That station wagon roof line just doesn't look right on a Ferrari. Who needs 4wd on a Ferrari? Not many would drive it in snow or mud, so it is just extra weight to carry. I'll take the Z06.

New ZO6...just my opinion. Never really cared for the styling of the FF. I would think road coursing the ZO6 would have better handling capabilities in comparison as well. Again, just an opinion. Either way,...Enjoy and be safe!

The FF is a much better looking car, and it makes an amazing sound. I would not expect either to be reliable, and you need to prepare for some pain if you experience what several other C8 owners have. Just understand that Ferrari parts will be really expensive, like that front transmission is $75k. At least you wouldn't have to leave your car at a chevy dealer for weeks or months waiting on parts and go through that experience. They are both big cars but at least you get two useable full size seats in the FF too.

I think if you have the means to buy and maintain a 10 year old Ferrari, then there is no comparison. Get the Ferrari. The FF is gorgeous, super unique, and everyone will go crazy for it. The Z06 is an amazing car, no doubt, but it isn't a Ferrari. Most people who aren't into cars don't know what a Z06 even is, its just another C8 like their retired neighbor has. So it's mostly impressive only to other Corvette owners and car ppl. I know nothing about the FF performance, but I would guess the Z06 is faster, if that matters. But you will be able to find used Z06s in a few years for extremely reasonable prices. You won't find many used FFs, and they will always hold value, especially if buying one already 10 yrs old. The main appeal to the Z is its brand new, and likely to be pretty solidly reliable. At some point the Ferrari will cost you money... a lot of it. Something expensive will break. Some maintenance cost is going to be eye wateringly expensive. If that doesn't matter to you... Ferrari.

If your budget allows for the repair and maintenance of a Ferrari, hard to beat it. The Z06 should be a very good performer and would serve you well at the track or just everyday driving. If it were my money, I would lean towards the new Z06 if nothing else for the warranty.

As the owner of a Ferrari California and a C8 HTC, I would say go for both. If that's not in the cards, YOU WILL NEVER REGRET your ownership of a Ferrari. The people you'll meet, the activities you'll be a part of, the pride you will feel as you drive down the road are absolutely unmatched.
Yeah, they can be costly but no one is talking about the ownership costs of a Z06 post warranty. Either way you will have a GREAT time....

I'd do the Ferrari...... but it not in my budget nor the Z for that matter!!! But I've driven and ridden in a Ferrari and Tooold is right, its a special experience. Go to a car show and there will be C8s everywhere, not that many Ferrari. I like to drive something unique.

I don’t see ANY comparison between a Ferrari FF and a C8 Z06.
The FF is a 4 wheel drive, 4 seat, front engine, V-12 car, marketed as a grand touring family car.
As a previous owner of a 360 Ferrari coupe I found people fixated on the Ferrari name alone.
They don't realize they’ve made numerous models and not all are that desirable, holding their value.
As an example if you tell people you own a Ford or Chevy they ask “which one”. Not so much with a Ferrari, most have no idea of all the models and wide price difference. To them all cost a million dollars.
The FF was a classic example. High initial MSRP that depreciated significantly compared to it’s two seat stable mates.
There is no such thing as a bargain Ferrari. While many can afford to buy a used one, they can’t afford to maintain it.
i keep my 360 for 10 years. Over that time all my maintenance receipts exceeded the price I paid for the car.
This is why it’s not unusual to see a 7 year old Ferrari with 3-6 owners. They buy it, drive it, something breaks, take it in for service. Fix the minimum and sell it for the next buyer to do a proper fix.

Obviously it's everyones dream to own a ferrari sometime in their life, but the FF is not that ferrari lol.
Now if we're talking about a 488, or even a nicely spec'ed low mileage 458 (more comparable to the z06), then i would say definitely go for that rari.
But from the 2 options listed, z06 all day.

This is not even a question. The Ferrari FF is fugly, pale reflection of the 612's glory. And repair / maintenance cost comparisons between a Chevy and a Ferrari are laughable.

Before deciding, look at the maintenance cost for the used Ferrari

I'd pick a true mid-engined sports car over a station wagon every day of the week. Ferrari or not.

C8Z06 would be the clear choice for me...The '13 Ferrari FF is dated, boring, and ugly...
