How many have experienced damage to radiator fins?

I'm in the camp that doesn't have screens and I have little if any bent fins. Bug debris decay and wash off and bigger bugs will just clog up the screens preventing air flow in the first place. Just fixing another problem that doesn't exist.

After just under 15k miles I am seeing some fins bent but for the most part holding up okay. It's my daily driver and 90% of its driving is congested city roads.

After 1000 miles I put on the screens because I'll be putting a lot of miles on this vehicle and I want to keep it in good condition and not have any issues down the line. I also like how the screen looks. It finishes off the front end of the car and subtly blacks it out a little more. Seeing those bent fins or having a larger rock cause a leak is not something I'd be happy about, so I spent $90 and 20 minutes time to protect the car. I also put in the side vents and have heard of someone who had gravel fly up into those side vents. That was another $40 and 20 minutes. Easy, one time changes that makes the car feel more complete and trouble free.

After five Corvettes and several other sports cars and sports sedans I’m certainly not a “casual.” I guess at the ripe young age of 64 I might be considered a “geriatric” but I’ve been OCD about my cars being clean and looking good since my first one - a 1972 Chevy Vega GT. That’s why it takes me ten days or less to sell them and get what I want for them.

These "grills" do provide some protection, but most of the vendors are waaaay over-priced.
My brother and I replaced his condenser and radiator; we did the labor ourselves with a family friend who is a Corvette mechanic. The new condensor was $150 and the radiator was $199.
There's no way any of these products should cost more than $100, but we do have to pay the mid-engine tax now for everything.

Question for all you guys that installed these yourselves. I am thinking of getting the plastic ones from RGS. Is it possible to install these without lifting the car? I don't have pucks, jacks or ramps.

There's a YouTube video (somewhere) of an install with zip ties. The bottom panel where the grills are have to be removed or at the least have a few bolts removed to gain access. It's possible to do this with lifting the car if you have a small drill or ratchet. The person installing the grill guards mentioned that the C8 is so low that no one would notice the zip ties if you turn them a certain way. I installed the normal way and it was easy and didn't take long (once I knew what I was doing).

Ohhhhhhhhh how I wish some genius can invent a simple insert that installs from the OUTSIDE instead of from underneath. I dont have any way to jack up the car to remove the panels underneath, I also doubt I can stand up after being on the ground LOL. My advice - dont get old.

After just a few months of careful driving during break-in period I had some bent fins. I installed Scrape Armour and have avoided any additional issues
