C8 hideous front license mount.
I just purchased a 2023 leftover C8 StingRay convertible from Ciocca in Atlantic City.
NJ requires a front Lic plate so I asked them to please use the mount that came with the car. Well when I saw this abomination that puts a pig nose on the front of this iconic car, my jaw just dropped. This thing is hideous.
I had a front mounting on my C7 and it was beveled, not like this flat thing.
Does anyone know where to get a beveled mount that will fit and look good?

Lots of posts on this. Some leave the front cover on and risk being stopped. Others remove the front cover and bend and mount the plate in the space provided. I do both . Mount the plate and modify the cover and install it. If I get stopped just remove the cover. Been driving 3 years and not stopped yet.

I’m trying to get by with no front plate in Mn. So far no problem, but it’s only been 550 miles.

Front license plates are hideous, completely unnecessary, and should not be required for Corvette owners who have a clean driving record.
Sidebar note: We have a cop in the family. Years ago when I owned my C4 I expressed these same feelings. He said, "Well we do front license plates in this state. If someone catches you it's a $75 fine." I took out my walled and said, "OK, I can give you the $75 right now, please leave me alone."

Massachusetts requires a front plate. I have mine mounted on a broken front plate mount we dug out of the
trash at my dealership. I keep it in the cargo net in the frunk so if I get pulled over and receive any grief
about it I hope to explain that the front plate "fell off" and I'm waiting for the backordered part to come in
so I can get back to compliance. My friend temporarily attached the plate to the front cover since the
inspection sticker process is recorded on video and the plate had to be on the car.

C7 frame was similar. It was better than any of the aftermarket stuff and with at least 3 people I knew getting tickets in IL, I didn't think it was worth the worry to not have it.
I moved to AZ and refreshing to not have front plate or vehicle stickers.

I requested to not have the mount or the plate installed on my car before delivery. I have not put one on. My state (CT) requires it but it's not enforced. The nextdoor state (NY) which is extemely money grabbing does ticket for plates even if the car is not being driven and is just parked somewhere. I may just bend it and put it in at some point without using the mount but use a rubber backing to not scratch the car.

I got a ticket for no front plate, so had to put one on.
you dont even need a mount. I used double-sided mounting tape and just stuck the plate right on in 5 seconds. It stayed on for 3 years, even through about 50 automatic car washes (yes i uses them, zero issues) and 50,000 miles. When i traded it in, it looked like the day I bought it. I currently have 4 cars (another C8, GR Corolla, GLC300 and a Ford Maverick), and I use this method on all of them.
also, to remove it, you just need your hands and some goo gone to remove any leftover stickiness, and no holes are drilled into the front.
as an aside, when i went to go get it checked off at the station, the guy said “i can’t believe you got a ticket for this, i usually give Corvettes a pass” lol

Put 16k miles on my C8 in Missouri in the last 9 months without a front plate. Got stopped once but I think he just wanted to see the car up close as it's so good looking... no ticket or warning.

I'm guessing you have probably heard this before, but living in Jersey all my life and i have almost never had a front plate.
I've had Corvettes, Camaros and Jeeps, never with a front plate and i have never once been pulled over for lacking a plate. In fact, it has helped me in more than one case when i have gotten pulled over for speeding, and the officer would give me a break and just write me a ticket for the plate, not wanting to give me points.
That said, I agree - the bent plate looks horrible, and the Jersey yellow plates stick out like a sore thumb - cant imagine how that would look on a black C8.
Good luck finding a solution.

In New York state the front plate is required. Most of the time I run without the front plate. I mounted my plate on an extra front cover that I purchased and keep in the car behind my seat. I have a plastic removal tool in the glove box to quickly remove the current front cover on the car and install the cover with the plate mounted on it if I had to. But I'm hoping that if I do get stopped for it they will just do the "catch and release" like they do with violent criminals in New York State.

I bought my C5 in Va which requires a front plate. I was stopped driving home from the dealership. I told the officer that I was driving home from the dealership and was going to put it on when I got home. He said yeah, right. Then I showed him the front plate and the BoS and he said go forth and sin no more. I bough removable quick release systems for my C6 the I left VA for NC then FL which have no front plate.

I'm in NY. Never run front plates on my last, maybe 4 fun cars going back about 25 years. Unless there's some reason you need to avoid interacting with the law, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've recieved one ticket for it over the years. Pulled over for speeding "breaking in" my 4 day old Solstice. Trooper let me go on the speeding. I've hit a few roadblocks here and there over the years. Never had an issue other than a couple of warnings to put it on.

When I bought my C4 the dealer told me I did not have to have a front plate. Of course every cop is going to look so on the way home I got a ticket. Back to dealership and they gave me a whole lot of accessories worth about double the ticket cost . We now have an Automated Licence Plate Recognition system used by police so no new plates and no decals are issued. The system also indicates if a vehicle has no plate so ....

Been driving Corvettes in Va for 47 years without a front plate and never been stopped. If I do get stopped I will just pay the fine.
