Default Should dealer be revving my car?

I have a Borla ATAK exhaust and I watched the PDR after I had my car in for some service. The kid who parked it inside gave it two revs but then a few days later in the video I posted, a different person was holding down on the gas. Should I be concerned?

It sounded like he was trying to diagnose a misfire ?

I would think that is part of the maintenace. You didn't say what the car was in for. In the video, I heard the tech use the word misfire.

I would be concerned about misfire rather than that rather mild rev.

Smells like there's a reason (in your mind) to not trust your dealer.

I say, smoke, but no fire.

It got a module changed under warranty because the battery kept dying after failed updates. I also needed the relearn for the exhaust. There was never any mention to me about a misfire and nothing in the paperwork about a misfire.

I hear nothing in that video to be concerned about. As for a misfire - its not obvious from the video.

My 2021 will occasionally miss or run slightly rough right after it starts, but that goes away. It has built in misfire detection - but that requires it to happen often enough to be a problem - at which point it will set a DTC. A scan tool can also be attached and it can count misfires.

Why not contact the dealer and ask about the misfire comment. I'm guessing that one person commented on something they heard - that did not amount to anything.

Just blowing out the carbon like a test drive when I complained about a misfire in a used C7. Salesman repeated open throttle starts from a stop to see if he couldn't blow it out. Passed on that one. Oh, the inanity.

You have an aftermarket exhaust and are surprised (misfire or not) that car people are going to rev it? It's not like the car is going to let them over-rev it in this day and age.

I agree with the very mild rev statement. Not sure those even qualify as revs ?

After the few revs you hear them hold it down.

I am a bit surprised actually. I'd think they see dozens of Corvettes a day. My PPF shop didn't do that to the car. The place who installed the exhaust didn't do that to the car.

We expect all complaints to be poo pooed similar to raising a concern with a salesman on the showroom floor.

Why is that, are we enthusiasts or salesmen.

I heard nothing in the video to be concerned about; seems like some pretty mild revs and not very many RPMs when holding the gas open slightly. To me, just sounds like a few techs enjoying your cars exhaust. What it proper by the book? No. Did it hurt anything? Nope. Would they be punished if you were to raise the issue? I certainly hope not...but would likely be reminded by their boss to not be dumb considering these cars record audio/video of everything.

Didn't notice anything strange. My friends buddy owns a luxury car "performance shop". Not really performance but they do only the basics as well as tints, PPF, custom wheels, lowering etc and they always have exotic cars on deck.

You'd be surprised at the 12 years of doing business they would have seen it all and not care at what comes in the door. However i was there when someone brought in an AMG. But it was a brabus. And 2 of the techs came running out and was like, "oh i'm definitely gonna test this".

I was like yikes. If only the owner new lol.

They were designed to be driven. I would respectfully suggest that you do a few hard pulls to near redline every once in a while . You may be doing more harm then good !

Right before he said the word misfire, I thought I heard a slight blurp sound like a slight misfire. Right at the beginning of when he tapped the throttle.. Could just be my ears after 50 years of playing bass.

I have a Borla S-type exhaust. After my last service I looked at the PDR to verify they had done the Hydraulic System Flush Procedure prior to changing the DCT filter. I noticed that when they pulled it out of the service bay and parked it the kid who was driving it gave a couple revs - nothing over around 3000 RPM.

The word he said was "SWEET". I had to laugh.

That's why i avoid leaving my car at any shop, or even taking it in in the first place. These places are filled with children.
