Sick 2023 / Service Department No Answers
Welcome to my nightmare.
I finally talked my wife into parting ways with our beautiful paid off C7 to make way for my dream car a 2023 Anv. Edition HTC C8
No look at us now. 6 months of owning the car and it’s stutters between 1600 /1800 RPMs has had the check engine light come on twice and has spent over a week in the service department with the tech logging over 130 miles and still no answers.
they say the cam shaft position sensor is with in specs
they said the transmission is working to spec
and the only thing they can tell me it has thrown a code 18 times in the last few months. P0307
The car has 4100 miles. They have asked GM and have gotten no response.
My 8th Corvette and I’m just devastated. I waited till the 4 year just in hopes all the bugs would be gone by now.

It's a car....it's not heartbreaking news. Nor should you be devastated. Just work with the dealer and GM to get her fixed.

Well FCCCVPMan, I would be just as upset as you.
My thoughts would be try another dealership for service or maybe best to trade it in.
Talk to the Chevrolet Regional Rep.
Having a problem and fear of check-engine lights is not acceptable!!
Best wishes for a resolution.

I certainly hope your tech has checked the spark plug and spark plug wires...

Get different tech! First check priority for such code isn’t the transmission or cam sensor. Are they going to check the wiper motor next??? Come on tech get some schooling or a knowledgeable colleague involved.

There is a phone number listed towards the back of the owners manual for contacting GM for help. They may direct you to a different dealership. Reminder that dealerships are NOT owned by GM and are separate entities.

Might want to ask them to check that for you if they have not...
Take away all the computers and ****, and cars still need only 3 things to run. Air, Fuel and Fire.....the basics often get overlooked as they rely too much on what the scan tool says

As noted already, that is a misfire on cylinder #7. And there is a procedure in the manual to diagnose and repair it. You can read through and see the possible causes.

As I recall, the P0307 code means that the seventh cylinder in your engine is not firing correctly. This could be caused by a number of things, such as problems with the spark plug, the coil that provides the spark, the fuel injector that supplies fuel to the cylinder, issues inside the engine itself, or even the car's computer system.

Camshaft? Transmission? Say what???
The primary problem is a misfire in your dealership's service department.
The failure to diagnose the P0307 is the indicator that exposes the primary problem.

Sorry you are having problems with your car. Hopefully the dealer will get things fixed and you can once again enjoy your car.

If this happened to me, I would start by asking if they followed the procedure. And then ask them what their next step is going to be. If answers were not satisfactory, then yes, I would probably contact a different dealer or GM directly.

I posted the procedure for this code in post 13. Per the description in that procedure, the camshaft position sensor is involved the detection of a misfire and the procedure includes a check for its proper operation. And, that procedure, for whatever reason, also includes checking for transmission issues. I'm not sayin' the tech followed it, but if they did, those items would come up. And, of course, I also agree - if they followed the diagnosis and it did not lead to a solution, they are not supposed to "give up" - since the code keeps coming back. Next step the dealer should be to contact GM for help.
