A manufacturer can not void your warranty for not using "original" equipment parts thanks to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. I am a big fan of the Wix filters and have been using them for years, even in my lawn tractor. Wix also make the Napa Gold filter. I am sure that the AC Delco is a great filter. They have probably spent hours testing the filters. There are a lot of filter comparison videos online where they cut apart the filters...some of them are real junk. Google "Bob is the oil guy". Tons of info there about lubricants and filters. Check out the video on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act at the site below.

Plus the AC-D is the cheapest. I bought the oil/ filter discount combo at AZ but got the M1-113A and it looks like I need the 114A. Both Mobile and AZ said the 113A was the proper one but the forum says it has an incorrect bypass valve pressure.

One of the TV shows that did oil filter tests was Engine Masters and their favorite oil filter is K+N Gold. It had the finest filtering ,10 microns, with one of the highest flow rates 7.7 gpm. Most filters tested were 20 microns and the lowest flow rate was 7.2 gpm. They also liked the Wix.

As long as maintenance parts meet or exceed oem specs, there is ZERO chance of any warranty issues on an unrelated failure while following correct oem service/schedule/capacities. Technically, if an aftermarket part is the SOLE root cause of a failure, there might be potential warranty coverage issues, but the chances of this are several decimal places to the left of a zero.
The filters I use the most are the Oreilly Microguard Select series. For Corvettes, the MSL57502 or MSL10290. Both have the correct 22psi bypass, and the 57502 is the cross reference for the Delco PF63 while the 10290 is the cross reference to the PF64. They are significantly better oil filters in terms of build quality, thick metal. silicone gasket/ADBV, high flow rate, good filtering, no plastic, and reasonably priced. Never had a problem with them on any vehicle I've used them on.

So is ACDELCO 12706595 the latest PF64 part number. Amazon and Walmart have other PF64's with different part numbers?
Is it safe to buy filters from Amazon and Walmart? Counterfeits?
( Advanced Auto Parts is showing PN:12640445 )

GM released superceded part# 12706595 for the PF64. I'm not sure about Amazon, but Wally World Delco filters are legit even with the weird foreign writing on the box.

The older PF63 has a by-pass pressure of 12 PSI. The newer ecore PF63E has a bypass pressure of 22 PSI. If your application calls for the 63E and runs at a higher oil pressure, it's possible the classic 63 might run with the bypass open, allowing unfiltered oil through.

As noted, if you give a flip about your warranty stick with the OEM. Why not?
