Turn infotainment display back ON!!!!
OK I give up. I was going through menu items on my new 2024 1LT. I went to Settings, Vehicle, Display and selected Display off. OK the display is off. So how do I set to back ON? (Called GM Onstar and after nearly 10 minutes it was clear they had no clue. I can't seem to find it in the manual and a web search didn't turn up explicit instructions to turn back ON. Very frustrating.

Disconnect the battery extended time to clear the setting/memory? (just a guess on my part). Make sure Fronk, trunk and both windows are down.

OK officially I'm an idiot. I forgot what I learned years ago... It is better to remain quiet and let people think you a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt... There isn't a a toggle for display on... The 'display' ON is just any infortainment app you are 'in' OR the display is 'off' and shows the temp, time, and date. Geez, gonna lose my GM reward points of that one...

OK if your screen goes black and you can't turn it on, try this. Shut the car off and open the drivers door for 90 seconds. must be 90 seconds. Then close the door and start the car. This will reboot all the computer modules.
Its not in the manual.

Uhhhh, this sounds like a horrible idea to implement, so I question its validity.

Depending on the issue, this does work. I had a problem where the car was not working right after an OTA download. Shut the car off, opened the car door for 90 seconds then closed the door and started up. Issue resolved. Again, doesn't work for all issues but it is worth a try.

How is opening a door for 90 seconds a “horrible idea”? It fixed my issue and helped many others.

Allow me to clarify my earlier "this is horrible" comment... leaving the driver's door open for 90 seconds has to be a fairly common circumstance. I probably do it on a monthly basis when I'm moving stuff from the car into the house. Resetting modules every time this is done sounds like something a firmware guy does when he has bad hardware but he's too lazy to track down the actual cause. I have to wonder WTH is going on behind the scenes that this was a good idea to implement. Any idea if user-defined memory options are cleared along with the reset? If so, that would totally suck as I would be resetting my car back to defaults once a month :-|

I would try pressing and holding (for 30 seconds?) the "call hangup" button, lower right side steering wheel, 2 down from the steering wheel heater button (if equipped). Assuming it's the DIC display we're talking about, and not the dash display?
It should reboot the DIC/Infotainment screen, and may restore "visibility".

Weird issue? If all else fails, go to this You Tube video. FWD to the 1:44.40 marker. And watch from there. You should ignore the naysayer in this thread.
