iPass going to stickers - where are you placing yours?
Hi all,
I am being sent an iPass sticker to replace my faulty transponder. I'm wondering where the best place is to mount it so to conceal its ugliness as best as possible. Anyone have any tips on these new stickers?
Thanks,
Mike

FWIW if your sticker/transponder is linked to your tag you technically don't have to mount it. They will just match the tag to a sticker. Thats how they do it in Florida. Just don't lose the sticker, put it in your glove box in case there is ever a dispute.

Unfortunately that's not how it works here. I tried that a year ago and got a nasty letter. They only allow around five or six per 30 days and then they start to bill fees.

Not sure how big the sticker is but here in Northern California we have whats called "Fastrak" and its an actual transponder as well. The benefit is if you have 2+ or in some areas 3+ the lane is free. You have to just switch over a toggle. The whole unit is about the size of a pack of Wrigley bubble gum. I don't go to the bay often so I have yet to mount in the C8 but in the other cars I have it all the way to the top left corner so I cant see it.

hell, the one I have on my Wrangler is peeling off and its in the bottom left corner of a virtually flat windshield I'm surprised it even works 1/2 the time. I don't know what your system is like there but they certainly can't read the things here so line of sight isn't an issue we just drive under a sensor and a bunch of cameras

When you drive on a tolled facility, an electronic reader above the toll road will read the microchip inside the tag and cameras take a photo of your license plate. If you have an active account (information is up-to-date and sufficiently funded), the price of the toll will be debited from your account.

I keep my ezpass under the frunk lid. Don't know if an iPass will work there or not, but it might be worth a try.
