Appreciation Gift Ideas for Service Advisor?
My service advisor has gone above & beyond in getting my transmission warranty repair sorted, despite Chevrolet dragging their feet at every opportunity. When I go to pick up the car (next week, fingers crossed), I'm going to pop into the GM's office to give him a good report on the SA & the whole service team, but I'd like to get my guy something to show my appreciation.
I'd normally go with a nice bourbon, but I don't know the guy well enough to know if that's a good idea - you never know what people are struggling with, etc.
Any ideas?

Definitely make sure they drink alcohol before giving someone alcohol as a gift.
At least write a nice message to their boss or the owner of the dealership about your experience.

If I know them well enough, a good bottle of alcohol is my first go-to. I do not like the idea of (generic) gift certificates or cash, but a certificate to a specific (nice) restaurant is a good second option, IMHO. I'd also promise to write a glowing letter to corporate and the dealership owner (and follow through)... this can have a large positive impact on their career. They busted their *** for me for hours, so 30 minutes out of my day to write a letter is a simple gesture.
You could also just ask what he likes... did that to one of my guys, expecting the answer to be some quality microbrew... Bud Light. <shrug> He got a pack of Bud Light. The man knows what he likes, so who am I to argue :-)

That's his job. Write a glowing review to Google and Yelp, and let his manager/dealership know about how awesome he is.

One day I'll be bored enough to have an online discussion about personal economics and showing appreciation for people who go above and beyond "their job," but today is not that day.

The entire team at my dealership was awesome.
We have a place that makes the best Buffalo Chicken Wings ever! It's a hidden secret place that serves them only on Wednesdays.
When my order hit 3000, I took a pan of wings to my dealership. They went nuts over the wings!
When my car was built, at 3800, I took them a pan.
When my car was delivered at the dealership, I took an even bigger pan, and my wing guy thew in a pan of cupcakes.
I also bring my salesman cigars at each status change, (for you cigar guys) at delivery, I took him a Fuente "Eye of the Shark."
Finally, I plan on dropping off "thank you" cards to the three key people involved, with some Benjamins inside. Yeah, I REALLY like my dealership!
