Plain english transmission question
So for the last time what has to be done to the transmission in the first 3 years and what does the 2 years stipulation have to do with anything?
Thanks for your kindness the reason I bring this up is because it seems like every post and answer is a little different than the others

Assuming you don't track nor put more than 15K miles per year on your car:
The DCT fluid needs to be changed at 3 years.
The DCT filter needs to be changed between 7000 and 8000 miles, no sooner, no later. If changed earlier it will need to be changed again at 7000-8000 miles.
The engine oil and filter needs to be changed when your oil life monitor says to which will occur at one year or sooner.
The free service includes an engine oil filter change and a DCT filter change. It must be used within 2 years or it expires. You can't split up the service so many people that won't hit 7000 miles by the first year but will hit it by the end of the second year pay for the first engine oil change out of pocket so they can use the free service for the DCT filter change which isn't cheap.

"Has" is the key word. Look at your owners manual. Then determine if the words in the owners manual, how you read it, are must do things. It's that simple.
The thing is you will have a lot of people that want to do much more or less than the manual says with their own opinion why they do. I'm no different. I consider the manual a general recommendation on what to do.

^^^ exactly. Read the owner's manual, the maintenance schedule is clearly spelled out.

You left off the every 45,000 mile requirement for the DCT fluid. 45,000 or 3 years, whichever comes first.

Is there a "get ready to change the DCT filter" DIC message issued at or just prior to every 7500 mile interval?

And the DCT filter gets changed at 7500 miles, 22500 miles and then every 22500 miles there after. OR every 3 years... Whichever comes first.
Only an annoying change oil message that comes on every time you start the car once you get to about 1200 miles to go...

It depends on the year. I think in 2023 they added the DCT filter change monitor and it should come on at or before 7500 miles. What I'm more curious about is if the reminder for the 2nd filter change comes on at 22,500 miles or at 30,000 miles. Your owner's manual should tell you if you have the DCT filter life monitor.

RTFM is so appropriate in most cases.
Sorry for the trouble.

If you are talking about the normal chatter around here, you change your DCT filter at or abut 7500 miles. The 1 year thing is that you will have oil change due simply on time, but maybe be short of the 7000-8000 mile odometer recommendation from Chevy for the DCT service. It is viewed in the case you're short of the 7000 miles, DON'T use the free first service coupon, as you will need to repeat the DCT part at 7000-8000 miles anyway. Just pay for the first oil change and save the coupon for service #2 when you probably need to do both. The 2 year thing is that you need to use that coupon before 2 years in service, or it expires.

Correct, on page 252 of the owner's manual it states that a Change Transmission Fluid Soon message does come on in the 2024 and should be changed as soon as possible or within the next 600 miles. Same for oil and filter.

Also the 2 year or 24 month (as also already stated) is the expiration time of the so called "free service visit. You must claim it within 2 years. It has nothing to do with the required maintenance. There is no mileage expiration for the free service. It includes an engine oil, oil filter, and DCT external canister filter replacement. The dealer has only a one use warranty claim for this service - and cannot put in a separate claim for the oil change and the DCT filter change. The confusion happens because many owners get near the end of the two years before they have at least 7000 miles on the car. Most (including me) go ahead and claim the free service, with full understanding that the DCT external canister filter much be changed again between 7000-8000 miles at their own expense. I claimed mine at 1 year and 2500 miles.
