Someone needs to start a Nation Wide campaign with Corvette owners that have had or having DCT failures and get a class action suit with 2 main questions.
First question ..... why hasn't problem been fixed? It has been going on since 2020
Second question ..... why are parts NOT AVAILABLE while new car production continues?

I agree service is terrible at the dealer. I have a C-7 (2017) before a C-6 (2005) the first year production which I sold with over 133,000 miles. Not one problem with the C-6. The C-7 which I have now for two years is at the dealer. It went into the limp mode transmission no communication with the main computer lost contact with the transmission. Was told by the dealer it will be three to four weeks before he can have his one man team look at it. I will be selling it when I get it back. Corvette was always my dream car. I guess that why they say "Dream Car" Good luck with the service at lease your vette is under warranty.

And amen - after spending too many weekends elbow-deep in my old 335D and the wife's diesel X5, I don't think I'll own a car out of warranty again.

[QUOTE=sowega;1607532650]I thought so - I tested a 1098 right before I bought an S1000RR, and I wish I had gone with the Duc.
!/QUOTE]
I had a 1098, but burned a valve so I put in a 1275 bored .030 over. ...
Oh. .. wait.. you're talking motorcycles... I was thinking my Austin Healey Sprite.

FWIW, most auto makers have a shortest on parts. I had a Hellcat Redeye and broke an axle at the track in Oct. At the time, the dealer said the axle would not be available until Jan. I couldn't believe that Dodge would produce a veh. with 800 hp and no extra axles.... these and rear ends are the first to go in those cars. Anyways, I purchased aftermarket axles and sold the car. I 1/4 mile my C8 and it has been stellar. Trans. shifts/operates well so far. Like others have said, I would not own one without a warranty. As a matter of fact, I would not own any performance vehicle without a warranty. OP, hope you get your car back soon in better than new working condition. Keep us posted

I think I'm going the Lexis IS 350 AWD F Sport route for my next daily driver. My current daily is a BMW 325xi that seems intent on emptying my savings account.

I just picked up a 2024 Lexus ES 350 F Sport Handling in December. I was considering either a MB E350 AMG or a BMW M5. Like you, I remembered the maintenance cost on my 2014 MB E350 AMG and the Lexus just made more sense. While the Lexus - even with the 302HP in the F Sport - doesn’t have the quickness that I’m used to in the MB the ride is incredible. If I want to go fast I can hop in my C8.

This is one of the reasons I’ve walked away from a few vettes the last eight months. I check every car that I’m interested in (2022 to 2023) through carfax and I’d say about 98% of them either haven’t had the DCT filter changed according to the manual or the dealer that serviced the cars can’t verify the work was done.
Anyone who thinks GM will do the right thing without a class action suit be filed are dead wrong. GM screwed the crap out of C6 Z06 owners when the sodium filled valves the used in the LS7 heads started dropping and destroying engines.

Update: no word from the dealer or GM's customer service. After a terse exchange via Instagram DM, Chevrolet "appreciates my patience."

"In honor of jpee"
Is the 325xi still under warranty? I'm inclined to think it is not, or at least BMW would be covering some of the repairs at their cost, not yours.

"...there would be several tough conversations scheduled for whoever is prioritizing bean counting over the reputation of my company and its flagship halo product..."
The problem at GM has never been the engineers; it's always been the beancounters. ANYTHING to save a few cents here and there...all that comes out of durability. In the old days if you bought a Monte Carlo with a vinyl top, the steel under the top was not painted. It used to be that bad.

Thank you! Pay close attention to your shifts - if they hang or feel/sound weird at all, go ahead and take it in to get checked; better safe than sorry.
I don't want anyone else to pay for a Corvette and drive a V6 Camaro rental, haha

Malfunctions will always occur but GM should step up with their efforts to remedy them as quickly as possible. Owners should have priority when it comes to parts availability rather than stacking another C8 on a megadealer's lot. C'mon GM.
this and lack of transparency on % of failures is what’s keeping me from buying a C8, and I really want to buy a C8. may as well buy an Emira if I want a truly shitty dealership experience
