Indentations/Dimples on Front of C8
Hi Everyone - At the end of last year I picked up a 2022 Corvette and absolutely love it. I have been around the vehicle for some months now and have not seen any imperfections on the bodywork. However, after picking it up after an oil change at the local Chevrolet dealer, I noticed indentations and/or raised dimples all along the front of the vehicle. When the light catches them, they stand out quite well. They appear to be uniform, which suggests it is a manufacturing issue. Either that, or something happened at the dealer. Is this a common issue with the C8 and I only just noticed it? I find that unlikely, but wanted to hear from the community. I have shown where they are in the attached photo by using painter's tape for reference. Thanks for your input and any suggestions on a fix.

Hard to see anything in the pic. It's a plastic car, and black, so it won't look dead straight like a steel bodied car. I've seen minor "imperfections" in mine. But I can't see them from the drivers seat......

Thanks Mark. I was going to post photos of the imperfections, but they just don't get picked up well on a camera. I understand the body is fiberglass, so it shouldn't dent, but will crack. Just wondering if this is something common with other owners and I just failed to notice it before.

The severity of the imperfections has to be judged by the fact that you didn't even see them for months. It's really minor, honestly, I'd learn to ignore them. If you can't, put PPF on the front, that will probably make them go away.

This will answer all your questions. It's not fiberglass.

Keep it dirty so you don't notice as many imperfections and blemishes. I understand that's easier said than done. : )

Kind of sounds like you are seeing things that are normal on the car.

I just noticed the same thing in my car last weekend after a wash. The dimples were not there when I purchased the car one year ago. If they get worse I will be asking for a replacement. Can’t hurt to ask. I remind myself it just a Chevy but it was expensive and truly disappoints me since I keep very good care of it. Black is one of my favorite colors on a C8. All my other cars are black and they show every single flaw.

After a year of not knowing, how does it diminish the love you had/have for the car? Don't all cars have defects? Honestly, this is like the mole on Cindy Crawford's lip.

The point is the defects were not there one year ago. If it looks like this after a year what is it going to look like in another couple years? This is GMs flagship vehicle, the bumper shouldn’t look like a cheap aftermarket body kit. It’s a one year old car not a 57 year old woman who now looks like Caytlin Jenner.
