Glove box not opening...
Today then I went to open glove box on the 2020 C8 that I bought in the middle of last month I found it would not release. I can hear a clicking when I push the button but it just does not release, which I also had issues with the passenger side door opening (this also happened at the dealer I bought from) but was finally able to open the passenger door of the car. I attempted to open the glove box with the car running, with the car on remote start and nothing I tried worked. I'd like to know if anybody has either had this type of problem and how it was fixed, or if anybody has a suggestion to open it. While some will ask and say, if the dealer gave even a 30 warranty take it back to fix, but the dealer is just over 100 miles from me in another state and the cost and time of getting there is prohibitive to me, so that is why I'm not considering taking it to them.

The problem might be the car was running via remote start, vs. full ignition on.

Yeah, but if it clicks, I think that means it is trying to open and there is an issue with the latch. Like something in the glove box caught in the latch - or latch is broken.

That was also mentioned by the dealer but the only thing in there was the registration and insurance card

Do you have any interior trim tools? If yes I’d say put a little tension on it while pressing the button. That should give you a better idea if the compartment is physically stuck or if the latch is just not fully releasing

The strangest thing happened, at least to me it seems that way. After trying a number of times to open the glove box door and nothing worked, I just went about my day and even though the outside temperature hovered around 30 degrees, the sunlight heated the inside of the car and the glove box opened without doing anything. As long as the sun heats the inside of the car the glove box opens. Has anybody had this happen to them on any car or truck...?

I've had issues with my glovebox. I opened the side panel and used my socket to manually open it. It's been fine for a day or so now bit I won't store anything in there in case it acts up again.
wonder if the tabs need to be trimmed or the actuator isn't fully hitting the tabs so it can drop open.

Hope you can find out just what is preventing the glove box from opening. I was going to say valet mode, but you crossed that one off. Would be great if it was just an adjustment that needed to be made.
