Safety Car
Must be a software issue I’m sure they will figure it out.

So much bull crap !! At Miami airport today …. Headed home after an 11 day trip and the frunk tool 4 times to pull closed. I locked the car and then unlocked it and that made it work. Long trip … wasn’t happy.
put aside that frunk latch system sucks. Click and noise and you don’t know if it’s going to work until you see it pull the frunk down

Since everyone is trying to “help” with suggestions… it’s what we do….
My bet is the latch is just defective or one of the resets or manual cable would have at least opened the stupid thing.
Hard part is going to be getting the damn thing open to replace the electric (of course…) latch without damaging the frunk lid.
At least the entire lid is removable and replaceable should the worst occur and they have to damage the hood to get it open.
Definitely puts a damper on what should be a great day. Good luck!

my brother had a brand new 1985 Trans Am that the hood wouldn't open.... until he took it to the dealer. It was comical, try to pop the hood at home, no dice. Take it to the dealer 15 times and it worked perfect every single time. We figured out a 2 man operation that was pretty consistent because the dealer thought we were crazy. Heck, we thought we were crazy. That dealer voo doo can be a legit mind game.

They pulled on release and pushed frunk up/down simultaneously several times. As of today in communication with factory engineers. They also examined a showroom 2024 to fully grasp the switch/release mechanism. New feature the service department had not had any previous issues with.

Sounds like the new "soft close" latch system on the frunk is not without issues.

Hopefully this will get your frunk open undamaged. Then battery can be disconnected and frunk latch diagnosed/replaced.

So is it fixed yet? What did they find?

I think my factory installed battery is suspect, as even after taking the car out for a run for more than an hour, which should top it up charge-wise, when I get home and plug in the battery charger/maintainer, the charge level always starts at the lowest level orange light, then slowly climbs over time towards green, full charge. Maybe your battery is iffy, too?
Also, when I run the charge extension cord in behind/under the frunk lid, through/over the weather stripping at the passenger side window/wiper area, if it moves or works it's way over the base of the passenger side frunk hinge, the lid won't "soft close", when pressed to the first "click" to initiate it. Probably not, but is there anything interfering with the frunk hinges (near the windshield) on either side that might prevent the "soft close" from working? Also stops it if the 2 support posts holes near the forward edge of the frunk lid get blocked, so the posts can't settle cleanly into them.
If this makes any sense?

Was going to suggest trying these things with the engine idling to give the battery a little help if it's weak, but if it's inside the showroom that might be a problem (CO exhaust).
