Spoiler
I purchased a non Z51 without a spoiler last year. I’ve seen the low spoilers and like them. So I was thinking about ordering one, but since there are no predrilled holes it attaches by tape and a form of epoxy. Anyone with experience with this type of spoiler? Does it adhere well? Anyone leery of it falling off?
Thanks

I’ve seen low profile spoilers, and even duck tail spoilers, installed w/just VHB tape, but will not be as secure as using fasteners. There is a lot of downward force on a rear spoiler. The lower the profile the better if you decide to go that route.

If you’re looking at the GM Accessory spoiler, it comes per-installed with double sided tape AND a tube of black silicone adhesive with directions on where to put it. It’s VERY secure!
No drilling at all either.

^. Doubt GM would sell that spoiler if it did not adhere to the car securely.

I put the GM low one on with the double sided tape/silicone and it is very solid. Given its low profile it is not really 'in the wind' per se like a high spoiler would be.

I am going through this right now. I have a non-Z51, no holes drilled. I have been looking for the low profile Z51 style spoiler without having to drill holes. I have not had any luck. I think the only place to get the same exact style is from GM. I do not like the accessory spoiler that sticks on, but thats just personal preference.
I have ordered 2 spoilers from two different vendors. Both claimed to be the replica of the low profile Z51, neither of them was correct. The thing is, I do kind of like them, but they are not exactly what GM sells as an option. They stick up quite a bit, like a duckbill, but they do not wrap over the back edge of the truck like the other vendors duckbill spoilers.
At first I thought they were too high, but I am starting to like the look. I am likely going to keep the carbon flash one, and sell the blue one. I am also considering the Z06 Low Profile style spoiler from RPI Designs.
Here are some pics, both of these are identical, except for color:

I have ceramic coating on my car and it’s been too cold to attach the spoiler. This is the spoiler that I purchased and it is a lot cheaper than the one from GM.

From what vendor did you buy the black spoiler? I like the fact that it stick up more than stock GM low profile spoiler.

From my experience with "stick-on" spoilers with another brand vehicle, I saw that they were okay... but, only as long as the spoiler didn't warp with age, sun, etc. Then, they lifted. Maybe you can use better adhesives, though.

Dan from Steinhauser Design said I could install their blade spoiler without any bolts, after the adhesive cured it would not move. In the end, I chickened out and added the bolts...

I also own a non Z51 LT3 coupe. I added the low profile spoiler to my factory order. Original bolt-on is the best way to go, if you can get one. Have a body shop install it for you since drilling will be required to fit it properly.

I replaced my low profile OEM GM spoiler with an aftermarket Z-51 spoiler. The OEM spoiler is very difficult to remove and can cause damage to the rear bumper facia. It is both bolted and glued to the facia with double sided tape. My OEM Elkhart Lake Blue low profile spoiler is for sale.
