I would look for a pampered garage queen. Based on what I read on the Forum I believe there are plenty out there.

Agreed. All things considered, it would seem more prudent to purchase new or from a responsible owner. Might be just fine, but might not, too. Risk Management.

They did tell us in class, all of the cars are sold from a dealer in CA, but not advertised as such. They will disclose if asked. I forget the dealer name.

At the risk of being critiqued on my driving abilities, here a a PDR lap from my Corvette Owners School. I’d say I was middle of the pack in terms of aggressiveness. Note the ‘hard on the gas / hard on the brake’ approach. Lots of tire squeal and a few time I push the car to the point of losing traction.

So….this is typical of how these cars are driven for 8-10k miles. I probably wouldn’t buy one…..

Default I bought a C7 from Ron Fellows via DC Motor Cars

Thought I'd respond since I actually had experience with purchasing a C-7 from DC Motor Cars who resells cars from Ron Fellows.
In 2016 bought a 2015 3LT, 8 spd Auto, Z51, Coupe. Crystal Red Metallic. At that time I negotiated a deal at about$20K off sticker. I did not get a power train warranty, but everything else was covered under the 3yrs/36K mi. Yes, it came with all new fluids, brake bads, rotors, Michelin Sport Cup tires (not sport cup 2's). It had 7K miles. My thought process was, yes it was a well maintained track experience car, but with the owner's manual had a section on what to do when you track your car... GM didn't appear worried about anything breaking... Also GM retains ownership of the cars at Ron Fellows. When I registered the car is Washington I was the first registered owner... No insurance problems either.

I flew into Orange and the salesman from DC Motors picked me up.. Did the deal and drove up I-5 back to the Seattle area. Wonderful trip getting to know the car.

I took a performance driving school at Pacific Raceways and got their track license... Thoroughly enjoyed lapping days perhaps half a dozen times...

The only issue the car had at about 25K miles was a transmission shutter. I learned this was common with the 8 speed auto, GM had a service bulletin on this and after a process of 3 trans fluid flushes the problem was solved.

Conclusion, DC Motors was great to work with. You might even negotiate more savings from the advertised price, which looks to be close to $11k of sticker right now. Even better than I had with now offering a third-party power train warranty.

We picked up our 2023 C8 Stingray coupe last May from the Museum and drove it to Arizona (we are snowbirds). I purchased through MacMulkin in New Hampshire at MSRP, waiting 10 months.

GOOD LUCK

Certainly DC moves a lot of cars and I've never seen any complaints posted on any media sites I follow. I think important for a buyer is their intended use of the car. If you are looking for a keeper car no, if you trade often maybe, if you are tracking the car yes.

You can get new cars below MSRP. Used prices are sliding too.

Just some math... Assume these cars have 5,000 miles of track time, they get broke in, there's some reasonable miles not on the track so use 5,000. Lets say the average circuit at SM in 3 miles. 5,000/ 3 is say 1,700 laps. A lap has what 10 turns? So that means these cars have been hammered 17,000 times! Full throttle, brakes, skid pads auto-crossed. Plus what's whats the condition of the body, can't be pristine.

I'd look elsewhere vrs. saving a few K's.

I believe their target mileage for taking them out of service is ~7500 - 8000 mi. (according to their lead Trainer). The cars are given a thorough inspection, brake pads, rotors, all fluids, etc. are replaced, lettering and numbers removed, and cleaned up prior to transferring them to the dealership for sale. I haven't investigated the drivetrain warranty that comes with them, but if it's compelling and the price is right, why not?
This.
If I were going to buy a used C8, a Ron Fellows School car that is not only driven hard but well-maintained over its service life is (or should be) preferable as far as used cars go.

It appears it is a buyers' market for used cars now. Looking for a one owner, low miles, well care taken of, from the original owner along with being patient might be a good way to find what you are after. Good luck.

The biggest issue IMO is warranty. What if for some reason the 20k+ transmission had to be replaced? Otherwise, for the right price, I think they'd be good cars.

You could always order a new1lt non Z51 add some wheels, MRC and NPP with full warranty for less than $75.

they would be GREAT to buy if you wanted to build a racecar out of it.... for a daily driver, hard pass from me.

I damn sure would not one of the ones we used on the "wet track" 5 minutes of fun. I kept the thing bouncing off the rev limiter the whole time

As I recall from the class in 2018 the radios are mounted kind of crudely to rear deck. Might have some holes here and there from that in interior.

no way....i had a 2024 on order from Dave Massey out of RI but when they jacked up the price on the first day of the model year i was in the pissed off camp that canceled my order and moved on....I am ok getting a car 1.5-2 years old with low miles with the spec i want vs paying 93K for the spec new.

The warrenty and powertrain are for 4 years from purchase per the dealer so seems like minimal risk in that regards
Because they have had the hell beat out of them by "racers" who the majority of have never been on a track.

The Cadillac dealer near me had four C7’s from Ron Fellows. They clearly were marked as such. All of them looked them needed a good polish detail.

A good friend bought an early 2020 C8 that was a Ron Fellows track car. Back then, he paid very near MSRP for a 7500 mile car that had a very hard life with a 'limited' warranty. He bought it because he could get it immediately, it was pretty close to his desired spec and color, and he historically flipped his toys within 12 to 18 months. The car basically checked all his boxes. As I recall the only thing that was a problem while he had it was the driver's power seat motor quit.

With that said, there is no way in hell that I would buy one of these cars..... especially after having gone through the program twice in the past 4 years.....

I wonder how they do the 500 mile break in? Do they just send employees on a trip? Or maybe take delivery at a dealership 500 miles from Parumph and have delivery driver baby it?
they allow employees (instructors) who live in vegas to daily drive them through the break in period
