Partial PPF on Red Mist?
I’ve done some significant searching and coming up empty on this.
I’m definitely ceramic coating my new Red Mist Stingray. That said, I need to decide if I’d like to do PPF. I can’t justify the expense of a full body PPF- but I’m considering doing the front of the car (full hood, no body panel would have a seam mid-panel).
I am concerned that the Red Mist, specifically, will look different when comparing the PPF’d front fender versus the non-PPF’s door panel. With the metallic flake, I just have to assume it would be tough for the two panels to match.
I suppose I’d rather live with a few rock chips than the door looking different from the front fender at 10-15 feet away.
Anyone have this done on their red mist car and have any insights?

I know it is hard to envision just what the red mist would look like with PPF but I have had Xpel installed on a number of cars and have not noticed a difference in the way paint looks with PPF installed. The film is really clear so the paint looks the same to me.

Thanks, everyone! Think I’ll bite the bullet and protect the car.

RMM with PPF on the hood, front, front fenders and mirrors. You could not tell it was on the car unless I told you.
Red Mist, black interior, red stitching, edge red calipers. Lots of sun where I live. Stunning color IMO.

I had PPF put on the front bumper, frunk, front fenders, A pillars, lower portion of doors, and splash area behind rear wheels. Did paint correction and polishing before PPF was applied. Gonna have it ceramic coated in the Spring.
