Yes, the rotors were covered in rust. Everybody said don’t worry as it’ll disappear when driving. It took some effort to free the car in reverse and now it’s making all sorts of noise.
Do I take it into the dealer? Car is not drivable and sounds like a tin can coming down the road. Unbelievable.

Must be a Z51 car. The non Z51 stingray rotors do not rust to go along with no brake dust. Just take the car down the road and do a quick stop from 60 mph a few times and all will be well. Do it on dry roads and park the car inside. If you have to park outside, get 4 big garbage bags and completely cover each wheel to keep rotor rust to a minimum.

I have done the same (wash/park) for several years and never had that issue so I would visit the service dept. Of course, much like a visit to a doctor, the symptom may disappear on the way.

Don’t see why the dealer/GM would have any issues with your new wheels/tires unless what you installed is causing issues.
If it is rust buildup, then braking as described above should help.

They told me that my wheel/tire warranty applied even with aftermarket as long as they are OEM size tires. This does not sound like a rotor rust issue. Get it in.

This is what happens to the clowns who think these cars are meant to be stored in their trophy cases.

Can anyone tell me how to drive a Corvette in a foot of snow on summer tires? Would be appreciated. Apparently I’m a clown for not wanting to do that and take the truck.
