Years ago (2017) when I was still working, I commuted home across the Golden Gate. One day I drove my Ferrari to and from work. Going home there were four Ferraris in line, same lane, headed home. The C8 attracts attention, but not like that.

C8 is a different beast, always get thumbs up from people and talk at gas station. Younger people come up to me in the C8, not so much in the C7 and older models as they are seen more as the old guy sports car.

It's not a car for people that don't like interactions with strangers.

Just today, at a light, someone asked me if I wanted to swap cars. I said sure, if he'd swap payments. He laughed, and complimented the car. Take it in good fun and move on. No biggie.

I get asked if it's a Lambo, or Ferrari, and oddly enough, how much it cost.
Most are surprised when I tell them it's a Corvette.
Most non-corvette people assume it cost a lot less than it did, before I tell them.
Then the jaws drop.

Same here. Most C8 owners are astounded at what you get for the price but non-Corvette people are just as astounded that I paid that much for a "car".

I live in San Jose too -drive my C8 frequently (15.8K miles in 15 months) -

As of 1/28/24, I finally saw another Torch Red C8 (in a driveway).
Otherwise, haven't seen another in a week (1/21/24 - Red Mist C8 at Santana Row shopping area, Accelerate Yellow C8 Los Gatos).

Saturday (Los Gatos, CA) - I did see a C7, 3 Lamborghinis (SVJ, Sterrato, Huracan), 2 Ferraris (California, 512TR) on the road.
Sunday (San Jose,CA) I saw C1 convertible and the same SVJ only 1 mile from my house (!) - yesterday was 15 miles away in another town.

Despite the so-called high-quantity of C8s out there, at least in San Jose, they appear to be less visible.

I was astounded when I found out how much Mr. Musk's products fetch at retail.
And I am aware of the cost of lithium batteries, I've purchased them in the past for other applications, but it still wowed me.

Drive it like you would drive any other car. Bottom line is it’s still just a car, although it demands attention. Just enjoy the extra attention. I try to be nice with everyone because you will get lots of stares and questions. It’s all fun.

For vette's, we've had a couple of C7s and a couple of C3s. Still have a '68 427/435 roadster and a few other fun cars. I really enjoy it when people ask questions and swap stories. You can meet a lot of nice people that way. I suppose it will be the same when we get our ERay - assuming they ever decide to build them! Best, Paul

Every year since we moved to SW Florida I've attended the "Cars on 5th" car show in Naples Florida. We joined the Corvettes of Naples Club in 2012 and one reason is I love to go to many car shows and talk with car people" of all sorts and brand lovers" to hear their stories . I've found that not only at car shows but also while my Corvette drag racing days the same thing applies. But here's one thing I've experienced at all these shows, racing events and just even at a gas station or parking lot "car people " are unique. But the best has been at "Cars on 5th" which is sponsored by the Ferrari Club of Naples and they invite all the local car clubs to attend so you'll meet people with Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, McLaren's, BMW's, Mercedes, Jaguars, Austin Martins, Alfa's, Mustangs, Cobras, Aldi's, street rods, classics and every thing you can think of. But what's amazing to me since I've gone there ,first with my 2006 C6 Monterey Coupe, then my 2014 White C7 Stingray Coupe and now with my 2021 Silver Flare C8 Stingray Coupe is the respect and fun it is to chat with all these folks and the interest we all have in cars. I don't know how much longer this phenomena will last but it'll be a sad thing to see it fade away. Just saying soul less EV's and cars that sound like a vacuum cleaner won't inspire anymore is a sad thought.

Hey Mike - If you're in Ft Meyers it's a short drive to the cars coffee at UTC (University and I75 - North of you on 75). This is every SECOND Saturday of the month. Next one is Feb 10th. There are "bunches" of car folks that attend this one.

Off Topic - Funny how many call Aston Martins, Austin Martin. My next door neighbor does. I even showed him the emblem and he STILL does....LOL

There are more expensive pickup trucks in abundance on the road. Most Ford F250s cost as much or more than a C8.
My 250 did. I traded it in on the C8 and had to pay capital gains since I made money.

The best reactions so far in my 2 months of ownership are the age 5-10 boys in my neighborhood. They just smile and wave or stare, just like I surely did at that age seeing a Corvette.

The biggest annoyance for me so far has been on the interstate. I can't count the number of cars going faster than me in the left lane who pull up and sit off my left quarter panel. I've never see that it in my life. I don't know if they are taking pictures or wondering what it is. I mean it says Corvette on the rear...I find myself wishing they would pass or fall back but don't just sit there like a wing man.

I get revved at from the highway ricres. 4-cyl Japanese/Korean cars, crackle-tuned BMWs, your Charger/Challenger/Mustang (but not really Camaro) boats. They slow down, rev in neutral, then flor it only to brake hard right into heavy traffic ahead or weave through the thick of it without signaling.
