Went for a look

I am 6', 180#. I find the C8Z with GT2 seats has more headroom (and helmet clearance) than my 09Z.
While the seat back bolsters are adjustable on the GT2 seats, the seat bottom bolsters are not and are more prominant than the base GT1 seats that the OP was hoping to try.

I’m 6’2” but slim and I fit fine in the GT2 seats. Lots of headroom also. You need to adjust the seats to fit you best.
I was at my local dealer for an oil/filter service on my 23 C8. They had 3 C8s on the showroom floor. Was interested in this one
Asked if they would open it so I could take some photos. They reluctantly said yes, but I was NOT allowed to touch or sit in it!
I told them don’t bother, I will purchase another C8 from another Dealership as always. I’m just getting mine serviced here.
Going to buy a second one so I can give both my sons a C8.

His first car was a 85 C4 we rebuilt together.
He’s been driving all my Corvettes including the C8.
He drove it from WV to Texas for me.

I did the same thing when I bought my new C6 in 2008. Sales guy wouldn't open the car or let me sit in it on the showroom floor. I went to another dealership in the next city down the road, and they were very happy to let me sit in one. About 2 hours later I drove my new atomic orange C6 right up to the front window of the first dealers showroom so they could check out my new car.
Said nothing, turned around and walked out. Stopped at a different dealer few weeks later , asked to sit in a model in showroom..Salesman said sure..one 2 wks later I ordered my 1st C7...since then I have purchased 2 more C7's and now a C8!
Ahole snub nosed dealer / salesperson lost out on my business..and every time I ride buy I think about this experience and laugh!

Local dealer has A 24 HTC on their lot. Out of curiosity I went for a look. I currently have A 07 C6. I have the entering the car procedure mastered and slid right in. But this is where things got tight. The car is a 3lt with the G2 seats. I am 6 ft 2, 275. The seat felt like it was just too narrow to let me settle into it and my head was rubbing the top, a real deal breaker.

Always nice to be able to sit in a vehicle before buying - sure can save some problems down the line. Dealers that won’t let you at least sit in the car to see how well you fit don’t deserve a sale.

The original post didn’t provide any context other “I want to buy my a son a C8”. I don’t think is an everyday occurrence for a parent to buy their child a six figure car. They seem to have a good relationship with cars. Awesome. Sounds similar to the relationship involving cars I have with my son. Instead of a C5 we built a BMW E46 Coupe, which I helped him buy and build a dozen years ago. I suppose I could buy him a C8 to match mine but I think it would mean more to him to get there himself. But that’s me. People can buy their family members anything they I want. I can express concern.

Take it down a thousand… I’m effing old and have seen far too many stories of over indulgent parents buying their kid a high horsepower cars and something really bad happens. We all share the roads. Whom I’m (and my son and my grandchildren) are sharing them with is definitely my concern.

Believe me there are so many other distracted drivers out there. Pretty proud neither of them has had any problems from driving. No tickets or accidents.
I have also seen parents buy their kids expensive things only to see them destroyed. I bought his first car and only his first car.
As for my wanting to buy him a C8, it’s something I want to leave both my sons as a reminder of the time we spent together with our cars. They will not get them till I’m gone, which due to Covid won’t be too much longer. I plan to drive both of them till then, as well as let both sons drive them.
Nephew has my old C6 and will get my C7 as my wife wants to keep one of my Corvettes (I bought the C6 new in 07) so owned it the longest.
Here is the three boys meeting wife and I for a birthday celebration. They drove the Corvettes.

Fortunately, you sat in it before ordering.
