Its funny, I too have a Chevy Trax (2020), for destinations that I do not trust, the Vette is strictly a pleasure vehicle.

This is my 5th Vette and of them all the C8 is the one I am most careful with in terms of where I park it.

I think that other C8 owners where I live must feel the same as I do because I see dozens of C8’s at area car shows, but virtually none in parking lots.

Only you can answer your question, do you live in a safe area or somewhere that may be a concern to you?

Honestly, I do get nervous leaving any of my cars in parking lots. So I do my best to park far away, hoping a last spot so I only have 1 side to worry about.
I have only parked at restaurants so far with the Corvette.
The worst parking is at food shopping locations with people with carriages!!
For most people, a car is just transportation, a think, and feel screw us proud owners.
I love cars, always have, and take extra care, even with my 2015 Civic.

It all comes down to your personality, nothing else. People can say its only a Chevy, its a plastic car, etc...and I wish I had that mindset, but I don't. If you are afraid now, you will be afraid later. Unfortunately, you and I are wired that way and, no matter what people comment here, that feeling will not change. Only you can decide where you will take your C8 that will make you feel comfortable.

No, I drive my car just about everywhere without a second thought. About the only place I won't take it is democrat run inner cities, but I don't take any car there as I don't go there myself.

I have more control over the cars safety in public than I do when it's dropped off at the dealership. That's what would keep me up at nights.

Chevrcolet or not, your concerns are certainly merited. Most have worked very hard to obtain a car like this,
However, it's not something that should take from your joy. That being said don't do anything stupid like take up 2 parking spots and you'll be fine...lol

I have to agree with Golddog,I think it’s a mind thing. I have been cautious of my cars since my first, a1967 GTO that I brought from my brother in 1970. I am just as paranoid with my LandRover and my daily 2003 Jeep Wrangler. It’s a running joke with my family especially with my grandchildren. If one or more of them are with me they start scoping out a satisfactory parking space when we pull on a lot. My wife thinks it’s a sickness.

I have my C8 covered and up on a lift. I put approximately 100 miles a year on the C8. I want the C8 to be pristine for my wife’s next husband. Here is a recent picture of my daily driver. I don’t worry too much about putting miles on it or where I park this daily driver. Sam

I also have agreed value insurance from NCM on this daily driver that will cover all of the mods I have done to her including the carbon fiber additions in the interior. I thought about putting a clear see through hood on this beauty so I can see the engine. Should I do that mod or shouldn’t I? Would that be too over the top? I have a double layer of self healing PPF on my DD too. Should I ceramic coat it also? How would it look with the roof wrapped in carbon flash? Does anybody have any pictures?

If I am unsure of a new area/spot I am going to, I will go first time in our sport ute to check parking situation. If all is good, I have no qualm driving the Vette pretty much anywhere.

I maybe wrong but I feel anytime you enter a big city with a car that looks expensive
you are running the risk to be f'd with car jacked or shot. Happens everyday in broad daylight.
I pick and choose carefully what I drive to the city and always carry. Cruising with multiple
cars is a little different, criminals don't pick on groups.

I'm not paranoid, but that doesn't mean to be stupid or ignorant of others that haven't put in the necessary effort .... It sums up politics too.

It's not meant to be a DD; Its a sports car. Unlike my 280SL that was both. Yes, I would take it to an airport for pickups or drop offs (not parking). One of the few reasons I don't use it as much as I would like is the storage. Unfortunately, it is a required design limitation of a mid engine.

Summary, I drive it to enjoy it for its purpose - and that is not to run errands to WM. The time inside takes away from the driving.

I literally have more people wave and take pictures of me, or try to talk to me in my GR Corolla than my C8, I think you'll be fine. I also take my C8 through automatic car washes about 1-2 times a week (zero issues ever) as well, so I am kind of a rebel around here, though.

Good grief! It's a CAR. I buy cars to drive them, no matter the make, model, or age. I've done so all my life, never to change for a Corvette... or any year or type. But, put your in the garage (or on a pedestal) if you wish. Your choice and no one else's.

I think there is some truth to that. Only people that talk to me when I drive the C8 are 60+ year old men lol And it's usually to tell me how their c5 z06 is better in every single way--it's very strange (manual transmission, round tail lights, etc.). I'm 43, and as stupid as it sounds, young hot chicks (and younger guys) are always coming up to me to say something about the Corolla at gas stations lol.

Amen to that. I have a 1999 Accord for just the occasion. That's right...a car that used to sit at the top of every stolen car list has now given way to Hellcats Chargers and Challengers. Nobody even looks at the Accord

I am not too concerned with public places but I do exercise a bit of caution. Usually, I never park downhill of shopping carts nor in tight parking spaces.

Interstates parkways are another matter. Here in southern North Carolina we unfortunately have I77. This road is littered with debris and rarely is the 'covered load' rule enforced. There is crap flying off trucks, cars, trailer and RVs. Recently, the C8 was damaged by a piece of a washing machine which flew off an uncovered flat bed. $4000 worth of damage. Last year my C7 was damaged by rocks being dumped on I77 by a rock truck. New windshield time.

I77 is a no go zone for me...for good reasons!

So no, I am not too concerned...however I try to take justifiable precautions.
