Am I making more out of it?

Am I making more out of it?
Just picked up my Vette after dropping it off on 11/09 for a DCT replacement. I asked on Friday that they be careful when washing it as it has a PPF applied as well as needing a neutral Ph soap as it is ceramic coated. It was to be hand washed. Also I screen shot where it was driven four times, the last for 39 minutes with speeds above 80 MPH accounting for 27% of the 39 minutes ( nearly 11 minutes).
They brought it around dripping wet. When I got it home I realized that it was never washed, just rinsed off with fine scratches where I suppose the finger prints were. The 0-60 timer on the display . I have never used it.

Oh the humanity! 😳
full paint correction and re-ceramic at the detailer of your choice on their dime. That is totally unacceptable.

I would be really upset too. I would go back there and insist they make it right. I think the lesson we can all learn here is not allow the dealership to wash if we are concerned with the finish.

I would be very unhappy with that. Never let a dealer wash your car. Sorry to see but that will buff out in the right hands.

Fender protectors placed over a dirty car will also muck up the paint. I always make sure to do at least a rinse less wash before taking a car in for service. I always do the same at home.

Thought the great service manager might be insulted when I asked to not have my 2017 Grand Sport washed and NO dealership sticker. He said "My wife asked the same when she picked up her C7!" She detailed herself. He added the folks who wash also put on the dealership decal so it won't be done.
Didn't have to say anything for my C8, they even left the plastic covering on some interior parts. Why would you expect "be careful" to mean anything to the folks who wash whatever comes in with the same rags and stuff.
Sorry
For my C8 the service manager who did my Courtesy Delivery called @ 4:30 PM and said your C8 arrived. Do you want to watch as we remove the white plastic GM cover? Said sur but can't get thee until 5:30 (they are 25 miles from my home. He said no problem I'll be here. All Techs had gone but he and the dealer owners son removed the cover while I took pics. Took longer than I thought!
It was clean. Tech did the PDI the next day. I washed, claybared and put on Zaino when I got it home.

Idk if it's worth the hassle
I've been there before with a new 19 Z06 told me they'd keep it inside paid service manager 100 tip.
Stopped by after a thunderstorm it was parked in the dirt lot extension getting muddy. That was a 1k miles garage kept car.
I could see if I didn't make the request ahead of time and if they said they COULDN'T accommodate me but I did and they did.
that sucked. The service unless near one of the big dealerships is subpar in my experience. The corvette tech at that dealer was my go to guy too. Rest of service is a waste.
Lesson learned.

Melting Slicks
There is ZERO justification for them to drive the car for nearly 40 minutes. A quick test drive after DCT change to run through all gears up and down should be more than sufficient. That is excessive.
The scratches are another matter.

Sorry to see, but now you know first-hand why so many of us avoid dealerships as much as humanly possible... and then some. To expect the dealer to do as you requested, no matter what they may have said is usually a mistake from the outset.

I think the run in time is not a problem. It is not like a normal front engine automatic, transmission.
changeout. It is major surgery and lots of stuff is disconnected and moved out of the way. You are literally tearing the heart of the car apart. I would be happy if they ran it hard and made sure nothing leaked and alignment was good. And maybe they did not get it all right the first time and did the dealer farm out the alignment? 40 minutes is a good thing….

My salesman at Estero Bay Chevrolet had no problem with not washing the car after the PDI...I brought it home with the plastic on the seats, and the stretchy steering wheel cover, and all the other paper tags, etc.

If I were you I would also check for cracks in the rocker panels...If they drove it for 40 minutes who knows what else they did or didn't do correctly. I check mine every single time I take my car in BEFORE I even leave the dealer.
