My fronts are smaller than the rears. And I'm pretty sure there is a "direction of rotation" indicator on my tires, so you can't swap them out side-to-side. Wheel alignment, with emphasis on toe-in, are the key. The factory settings have too much toe-in, being actually great for racing, but lousy for tire wear on street drivers. Common problem is that people set the toe-in to GM factory specs. Other problem is getting an alignment without doing the rears also. On many cars you can't "align" the rears, but cars with independent rear suspensions you generally can.

Not convinced there’s a benefit on any car and I drive a LOT of miles. I’ve done it on some and not done it on other DD’s for years but NEVER has there been a plus. BTW I get a lot of mileage out of them either way, even corvette. Never once rotated my C5 tires.

I only got about 17,000 miles out of my first set on the Z06, but that may be in part because I had the original GM alignment for a long time.

I agree. I have never done it to my car, but would be interesting to hear if someone that has done it has seen a difference in tire wear.

If you have factory tires then there is no direction of rotation and you can absolutely swap them out side-to-side. That is what the recommended rotation in the manual is. I haven't heard of any tires on a C8 that have a direction of rotation.

On another car.. long long ago.. I wouldn't rotate. I was a front wheel drive. When the fronts wore out, I replaced them. When they were worn out again, so were the rears, So it was buy two, buy four, buy two buy four. Cars I own now I rotate every 6 months.. except the C8 as I mentioned above.
