Default SD card size

I have an order in for a new c8. I see that I have to provide my own SD card for the data recorder. Any suggestion on size and or brand? Thank you in advance.

I have a SanDisk 256GB Extreme Pro. It seems to work well, but it filled up, after about 3,000 or 4,000 miles if I remember correctly, and it stopped recording. I then changed the settings to just overwrite the oldest videos. Since then I have not had any issues. It records every time I drive (at least the last time I checked)..

I don't know what is the largest size SD card your 2024 will take. Take a look at the 2024 C8 manual. SD cards are cheap enough that it might be worth getting the largest one that your car will take. On the other hand, how many old videos do you really want to keep?

If you will have it record every time you drive like I do, and you will set it to automatically record over the oldest videos, it probably is worthwhile to get a Pro version SD card. Supposedly they can be re-written more times. The SanDisk Extreme Pro had good reviews when I bought mine, but that was 3 years ago.

Most important spec is U3. Size depends upon finances.

Don't wait for the car. 90% of my mods were purchased and waiting in the garage for my C8 to be delivered.
