This just posted a few hours ago. Looks like the Z06 did pretty damn good, even beating the GT3RS.

Fun video!
I want to see how the ERay does. I have plans to do some testing on video at an airport runway next summer. Maybe we can do something like this, as well.

Curious how much the OWNER's experience, guts/confidence, etc. affected the results. Wondering what the outcome would be if only one driver for all cars was used for the comparo.

Z06 acquitted itself well but that is a huuuuge gap to the 911 Turbo S. The Porsche was, what, 17% quicker? That is an eternity. Also, LoL at the Lucid's time in the 15s. Mind blowing....

Incredible how fast that Lucid is, holy cow.

Yes, it is. C&D even admitted that ICE's are going to be obsolete when it comes to performance. ICE's will become a thing of the past by 2030, that's almost guaranteed. Like it or hate it (I personally don't like it) but the writing is on the wall. It's like VHS, cassette tapes, Netflix DVD's, telephone booths, typewriters, etc. it's all coming to an end.

Its way heavier than the Z06 and above 130 the Z06 walks it hard. That was from Tadge. When it goes to stop its gonna be longer too.

As fast as the C8 is (and it is fast), the Taycan Turbo S practically made me lose consciousness, and I wasn’t even launching it in launch control mode. It’s sickening. Not even enjoyable. But unholy fast! The Turbo S is very similar in numbers, but delivers power differently with its turbo six. But you’re right , it’s just a matter of time, and that time will be a lot sooner than 2030!

I remember when a 5 second 0-60 was considered a rare fast car. Then 4 seconds was like WOW. Then a entry level Vette comes in at a blistering 3 seconds and is wicked as hell! now many electrics are busting 2second 0-60....WTF...LOL

I live in Vacaville which is almost equally the same distance from San Francisco as it is from Sacramento. We’re a small town with not much going on and nothing special here. I don’t know if it’s something in the “air” here but there are several Lucid Airs and Rivian trucks and SUVs. They love their EVs here. So far I’ve only seen four C8s. I’ve never seen a C8 in San Francisco where I work.

Got to give them credit - those EVs are damn quick.

The Cadillac is an impressive car, only being beat by 3 of the best sports cars in the world. Very impressive for a practical, 4 door sedan you would enjoy driving every day.

Maybe a heavily modified 1000+ hp, lightweight modded 3000lb or less ICE car could, but only maybe.
But that doesnt matter. EVs are boring and have no soul. ICE sports cars, not all of them but the best ones, have character. They have a unique personality tied to their design, their engine note, everything about them. EVs are all the same. Heavy, soulless lumps of batteries metal and plastic that just cannot speak to you the way an ICE can. Any sound they make is artificial. It's like driving a cell phone. No emotional connection can be made.
If an ICE like the Z06 or GT3RS took twice as long as an EV in a road test, I would still choose the ICE. Every single time.

The issue with EVs and any electric motor is the HP curve flattens out quickly. 0-60 EV will always win. After max HP is reached it doesn't increase though. An ICE engine HP and torque continually build and flattens gradually. You can also extend this through gearing and transmissions. With that EVs could add transmissions or have multiple windings on a the motor but that would mean more weight, thus less range. EVs are much heavier than ICE cars mainly from battery weight. A Tesla goaded me to race not long ago, he had me until about 60mph, then I rolled right back up on him with my Z51 by 80. 1/4 mile, Tesla wins,1/2 mile Vette wins, rolling start from 40mph Vette wins. I was at the drag races last year and they ran an electric rail solo for exhibition. Boasting 1000 HP, it made its run....210mph, anemic for that type of car. Yes todays are 10000+HP, so the question is how many batteries and how huge the motor would have to be? The real advantage electric motors have is torque, not HP, thus the low end gain. Top end, not so much. 500 mile race, Tesla comes in 60 min after ICE car of any kind, even a base Kia. I do a lot of car shows and cruises and we now see Teslas at times. I will say while others are flooding to look at a Hemi Cuda, barely anyone is even stopping by the Tesla. Why? I believe pure blandness. Not good looking cars, quiet, a motor and wires...just nothing exciting. I kind of look and go OK, whatever. Could they days of hot rodding be over when our generation is gone? Likely. Cars will be throw aways and kids today don't seem to even want to drive. The tree huggers will be happy though.....a little less fun in life.
