MM,what are you doing for those that paid you for their C8 and GM has their C8 undelivered, somewhere, doing something to them for weeks and months and they don't have possession of the C8 they paid for?
You responded to this post and then went away. (post 75) Why? What is your side of the "story"?
You are not helping your reputation. A "little" communication would help.

I wonder if there is concern some sabotage was done during the strike and the cars were sent to Michigan for investigation. GM would be very closed lip about this for legal reasons during an investigation whether or not they believe it is a real possibility. And dealers would be obligated not to discuss even if they had knowledge from GM or other sources.

Or it could just be the typical lack of communication from GM...

The black one was easy to get to so I test drove that one and decided to buy the red one. After the deal was over, I jumped in my sporty little wagon and headed for home......WTF! won't shift into 3rd, 4th or 5th gear. I turned around and talked to my sales guy, he walked me back to service and explained to the clueless service writer of my problem and he said he could get the car in a month!!!!! I flipped out, good thing it was "customer appreciation night", I walked though the showroom talking loudly to the sale manager on the other side of the room, I said "I am not a happy customer" in front of a crowd of people stuffing their faces with free pizza. The manager calmed me down, took me to the service manager and he got my brand new car in the shop Immediately and the lead tech had the shift linkage fixed in 30 min. From that point I learned not to pay for the car till I inspect and drive the vehicle. That was an intense day, but if I had not made a stink and forced the dealer to do the right thing, they just wouldn't give a fack.
yep... try being 1500 miles away from the store. I've called over and over and left messages, emails, texts, etc. Nothing.

I left Tom Thompson a voicemail

Emailed "Jeffrey Thompson Jr" - must be the big boss's son, surely? Nephew?

At one point Shane copied an area manager named Darius, he doesn't respond either, tried him multiple times.. GM Executive Liasion is responding albeit very slowly (I emailed Mary Barra saturday, it's thursday and I have managed to give a guy my order number by email, havent heard anything back)

Just nuts.

Well, I can vouch for Jeff Thompson being a cool and reasonable guy. He just called me back after getting my email. Clearly people at MM were not passing things up the food chain properly. He's taking care of me.

It's obvious that EVERYONE is playing the 'non-disclosure' game. They know what's going on but have been instructed to impersonate Sgt. Shultz!

I'm very relieved. I've been in his shoes before where a customer is super pissed by the time I get a chance to talk to them. It's not fun but ultimately his staff should have informed him of this the first day I said I wanted a refund, which was 3 weeks ago. You have to understand the difference in a customer that's simply waiting longer and a customer that has wired you a huge sum of money

It is a shame you had to contact him on your own.
MM could and should have done this.
Why MM is "radio silent" is reprehensible. Someone there should know that this is a foolish tactic.
Hopefully they will wise up and post their side. Even if it is "we are not at liberty to discuss this situation". Especially after their antagonistic response to you in post 75.
Their reputation is somewhat riding on this.

I was shocked that they posted that and then left the thread. It could be anyone doing the posting, I dunno. Like I said Jeff the manager of the whole store not just corvette team, is cool.

Shane on the corvette team is a certified clown. My opinion of course

GM is using other people's money to solve a likely required government mandate and even though the dealer is not responsible for the car's travels it is a matter of integrity and since their customer and buyer never agreed to or was consulted about GM's undisclosed plans the money should be returned. MM is just being stubborn and uncaring.

For all the money MM makes on Corvettes they should not be playing hardball with their customer who has complied to his part of their agreement in 'good faith'. Besides, MM can sell the car in question without losing a penny, all they have to do is be honest and disclose the car's top secret adventure.

I came very close to dealing with MM. I am glad I didn't.

It actually shocks me how many folks pay for a car that’s not at a dealer or location of delivery. I don’t understand paying for something that’s not really available. If Mike at Criswell would have called and said your car is built and should be delivered in two weeks, let’s pay now. Hell no. Let me know when it’s at the dealership and ready for delivery, will get it done. Ok museum delivery, let me know when it’s been delivered and parked out back. FedEx paperwork most transactions can be done in a day or two. What is real deal with paying for something that’s not yours yet.

I've been sniffing around about my car as it was produced on 10/12, finally got onstar activation today. Checked it. It should have gone from Kentucky to Texas, it's sitting in Pontiac Michigan and no one knows why. MM is trying to help me get an answer but I'm definitely... not thrilled.

It's paid for, wired the money and I have the MSO on my desk. Anyone else in this boat?
The UAW wants your car to showcase what they can do with their pay raises and increased benefits.

No wonder some dealers hate Corvette buyers. MM ordered the car for the customer and it has not been delivered yet. What is there to find out? The car will show up when it shows up.
If a car you bought and paid for disappeared, with no word from GM or the dealer on where it is, or why, you wouldn't wonder what the Hell was going on? If you're paying for insurance and car payments and can't find YOUR car (not the dealers, not GM's), you wouldn't be pissed? Yeah, right.

MM has been ignoring his requests, not resolving them. Try actually reading the thread.

Probably true, but the problem lies higher than that. GM should not be invoicing dealers for a car that isn't ready to ship.

Even if GM were unwilling to disclose the exact reasons, the failure to contact the owners AT ALL and give them some estimated timeline, and options, is inexcusable.
