Not sure in MPH, but it will drop the resale of the car in about 3 seconds.

Wouldn't that make it illegal to drive your car, since side view mirrors are required?

In some countries, cameras in place of mirrors are already a thing. Given how long it took some other countries to even allow headlights that weren't mandatorily either round or rectangular, you can expect mirror cams in 2047.

I remember hearing Elon Musk say side mirrors were
about 3% of the drag on the car. So that may or may not be significant to you, depending on your application. Musk thought it was a lot.

I'm pretty sure if you remove the mirrors, seat, spoilers, and body trim you will gain .1 in the quarter mile.
Just get som lightweight wheels instead.

I'm thinking the drag on the mirrors would be less than the drag on spoilers, splitters or other add-on ground effects. But how would anyone know I'm a johnny racer with a snappy right foot without showing them.

I think I remember gm saying when testing the c5 tucking in the mirrors and adding duct tape to the hood got +5 mph top speed.
so try that going to the grocery and let us know.

Then recalled something covered early in a fluid flow class where the Prof asked a simple question. Back in the day many cars like chopped '50 Mercs added a pair of tear drop spotlights. The were always placed with the bullet shape facing forward. He asked why and we all answered for the reduced drag! WRONG and by a significant amount!
Made these two pics for fun. Have a PDF on air flow with some other fun facts re air dams, splitters etc, if interested: http://netwelding.com/Air_Dam.pdf
Door mirror drag depends on shape!
I'm no Aero expert. But added this I got from a video to show it's not simple and not intuitive. That's why F1, NASCAR etc have aero experts on staff who are. BUT they still use expensive wind tunnels and complex flow software to gain a speed advantage!

You all realize this is a troll account right? Look at their post history. The screen name is from The Simpsons.

It will cut the 0-60 and quarter mile times in half, and push the top speed up to at least 350 mph. I read that on the Internet somewhere, so it must be true, right?
