Default (C8 Transmission fix?) 0868 codes, car jumps off start, dies randomly………..

2022 Corvette (non Z51)
42,900 miles
Daily driven
Zero mods

Codes, 0868

Issue, jumps off start (like popping clutch), dies in stop n go.

Wanted to see what others did for a solution at dealer??

Car immediately went to dealer it was purchased at in NH.
(October 16, 2023)

None of local dealers in CT would provide a loaner car.

Note:

Transmission fluid life: 4% (on cluster)

2023up owners:
You now have both shown on cluster,
Trans fluid %
Trans filter %

Really? Did you call any of the dealers in lower fairfield county?

As info for others, OP skipped the 22,500 mile DCT filter change.

The word skipped is exciting for you.
Thank You for allowing me to clarify.

The service was not brought to my attention until this week.
(the local oil change GM dealer didn’t see it also)

2022 owners manual 84570409A
page 238,239
page 292,293
show zero dct filter change in reading.
Page 294 DOES show dct filter change on graph

2023 cars now show both on cluster
trans fluid %
trans filter %
(do to owners not realizing this need)

HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS

Steve - best of luck getting this resolved without it requiring major surgery on the car. Just a guess, but maybe new transmission fluid will help.

Thank You Sir,

that is the plan, but I’m hesitant to feel confident is the fix.

Quickly realizing very few have crossed the 20,000 mark, let alone 42,000 miles.

Enjoy the weekend.

I’m very doubtful, could be me in the wrong mindset.

Hoping for the best, not so many with over 20-40k here.

Thanks for the good words.

Don't lose hope, they for sure need to do a flush before they change the filter and fluid though.

He should be within the 5 year, 60K miles powertrain warranty. That's what I am wondering. Are they going to perform this work under the powertrain warranty, or deny the claim because the filter was not change at 22,500 miles? As far as I know, we have not yet had a forum member report that a warranty claim was denied due to a missed DCT filter replacement. The steps of replacing the filter, fluid etc. are all listed in the Service Manual for this code. All to be performed in an attempt to remedy the problem - before the last step - transmission replacement. If they accept the warranty claim they should perform these steps under the warranty.

That's the $20k question. Would you be surprised by a warranty denial for a new engine if it was full of sludge because the oil was never changed? Probably not. If a flush, filter, and fluid fixed it and they handed me bill for $1,200, I would feel like I dodged a bullet.

The 99% of owners not here everyday don’t know filter change at 22k

Proven by the addition of it on 2023 cluster %.

warranty still good.

Steve,

Best of luck on a fix.

Most owners do know about the 22500 k mile service. I did before I even bought my C8

I was never apprised of my 7500 trans fluid flushes and the car was in for 2 oil changes at the dealer- Is it my responsibility? or theirs??. Now my engine being replaced 1500 miles ago did they flush and replace?? Is that intrinsic to removing the engine? My idiot tender still says i have plenty of time until transmission service
