do any of you regret not having your children/family ride in the C8 with you?
I am almost 34 and my gf and I are going to try to have a kid next year. I am just thinking of the future where I won't be able to have the entire family in the C8 with me to enjoy the car. I do have a wrangler right now which will eventually be the family car but I just really want to drive my sports car as much as possible even when I have kids. There will be instances where all of us are gonna go grab a quick bite to eat somewhere and it would just be nicer to take a C8/911 there instead of the wrangler.
It pains me to think that I'll eventually have to sell my C8 for a 911 (only bc it has back seats). It would be a used 2012-2016 911 bc I'd still want NA and no IMS issues lol
What do y'all think that have a C8 and a family? Do you regret not being able to have the entire family in the C8 like it would be possible in a 911?

I do feel bad I can’t take them, but then I go for a drive in my car and the acceleration washes those feelings away.
FYI, my son is grown, married and out of the house.

The 911 backseats are tiny and they definitely cannot fit a rear facing child seat in them with a passenger in the front seat so if the plan is to take out the baby for a quick run in the 911 it will not work.
With that said your choice of cars are pretty awesome, I had the 991.1S 7 speed manual which I purchased in 2012 1/2 brand new and kept that car for 9 1/2 yrs … way longer then I ever had owned a car before and it was a gem …
If you want a fun car that is fast and can carry a baby I would suggest a BMW M340, my son has one and it is pretty awesome.

I had a '97 Trans Am WS6 when my daughter was born. Took her home from the hospital in it. Two weeks later a Tahoe replaced said T/A.
I waited until she was out of car seat age and bought a '05 GTO after going to the dealership to check out a C6. Needed the backseats.
Best of luck!

Just the way it is when you have a two seat sports car and s’more than two in the family. But yeah, being able to take the whole family would be great.

Camaro ZL1 for the dedicated family man. Make it a 6spd.

Unless you own a 2nd family vehicle, and your S/O doesn't work, it makes no sense to own a 2-person sports car when you have kids. But you can do it later in life again, like most of us have done. And enjoy the kids in the mean time.

We periodically had a 2-seater as one of our 2 cars when our sons were young. We took the family car when we traveled as a family. If I had both boys, Mrs. Rapid enjoyed the 2-seater. Worked just fine. I can tell you the boys loved it when I gave them rides in the sports car.
Not only “no regrets,” but It really worked out for the best! Both have owned and appreciated sports cars as adults…

I have 3 kids...3,7 and 9...currently have an m4 with a c8 coming soon hopefully...order goes in Thursday
my wife can't drive my m4 and couldn't drive my c7 so actually getting a car she can drive will help big time. Our second car is an x7 so if 2 or more kids need to go somewhere then that's what we take...
Btw the kids love going in the vette even though its 1 at a time ...its good daddy time

It's a dilemma for any new family and certainly our opinions don't matter, but always nice to get other views.
That being said, my two cents is to keep the car and enjoy it. You have another vehicle for the family outings. You two can still use the car for date nights (which you should still have), weekend cruises, etc. Just not as much.
It's really okay to get a baby sitter. No different than someone having a motorcycle. You and only you will know the appropriate time to sell it.
And put a ring on her finger...seal the deal already. LOL
Good luck with your decision.

Time with family and the kids is priceless and they grow up and are gone in a flash.
Spend as much time as you can with them even if it means ditching the Vette. You won’t regret it.

I have a car seat in my C8 and my son rides there regularly. I sometimes take him to school in the C8. He is 3 so below the airbag trigger weight. My wife does not ride in the C8 because she prefers my Mercedes EQS or her Rivian for superior comfort.
When my son grows to a weight this won’t work, I will get a 4 seat sports car like a 911 or a Mercedes SL.

Let me set your fears aside. I have 6 kids (ages 26, 16, 15, 14, 11, 8) and the C8 is my Daily Driver. To be fair, my wife has a Porsche Macan as her daily and we have a Traverse for full family outings. The kids each love when they get to ride in the C8 (which is quite frequent) although for some reason, my 14 year old thinks the coolest vehicle we own is the Traverse. Yeah, I need to work on her a little bit
